64gb is a pain in todays media hungry age. I’d say 256gb as a minimum for a top end phone

Is the screen original apple or third party looks really dull

If it’s not original screen usually have a message in settings that says it’s not, you can test with oled YouTube test videos as well as looking at the screws at the bottom by charger port to see if they have been tampered with or scratched around the screws, I’m always wary of buying second hand because of screen replacements!

I bought a xs max said was new but compared to my friends the colours where really washed out sent it back

Until you need the photos/apps you offloaded and happen to be in a wifi/4G/5G blackspot/notspot/slowspot etc.

Dont get me wrong, I use icloud but get so irritated in this day and age that there are places without a decent signal ...

As soon as iphone updates start rolling they become slower and slower and the battery has issues.

I’ve had a couple of used phones from offers like this, one at 85% battery and one at 89%.

The phones have been in excellent condition. A new phone battery from Apple is £69 including fitting. (edited)

Seems to be oled screen though as a pure black image is not showing any hint of grey in a dark room and True Tone is in the setting and enabled. Has anyone had any issues with non- genuine screen?

Send it back mate the oled screen is the most expensive part of the phone and could play up down the line, you can pretty much get a new one off eBay for this price if patient possibly a sealed new one (edited)

What’s the deal with the batteries etc on these phones do they have a minimum ‘wear level’ on the battery? My iPhone has quite a degraded battery & may make sense to upgrade to something like this soon.

They don't mention anything about minimum battery health but it can be returned if not acceptable to you.
This price is only for 64gb though which is a shame.

    5GB storage: Free
    50GB storage: £0.79/$0.99 a month
    200GB storage: £2.49/$2.99 a month
    2TB storage: £6.99/$9.99 a month

I still use a 4s with 16gb and the latest iOS as a third fone. Damn slow but works. (edited)

Go in a dark room and bring up a black image. If it's original Apple then the black will be completely black, where as a fake/3rd party screen will be a cheap LCD so you'll see the black as a light grey.

yeah i'm not sure why every time a 64gb iPhone deal is posted this comes up, just get a 64gb iXpand drive and back up when you need to if you don't want Icloud......

If “like new” means a fake display and a battery that won’t be able to supply enough power within the next month then yeah.

Normally about 80% would be the minimum you would accept. The batteries on 11's up are a big step up on previous iphones though, my 11 pro is on 85% and it never runs out in one day and usually has 30-40% left at night.

Did your friend buy "Like new" or "good condition" phone? I assume those issues are from people cheaping out choosing the 'good condition' option hoping to get "Like new" mint phone?

Why does 64gb storage need to be a big issue?!
Most people are happy using the default preinstalled programs plus some banking/social media apps so 64gb storage is more than good enough. Unless you record the next 4K Hollywood blockbuster , download tons of games, have a library of questionable 'movies' to watch on shift it isn't worth wasting money buying the extra capacity models..

Yes in a perfect world 1tb minimum storage should be the norm but apple isn't a charity and needs to upsell but that still does not change the fact that 64gb storage is more than good enough for most users.

I bought mine 11 pro max @ 86% battery last year around Xmas and still on 86% . Heavy use still lasts over a day and light use over 2 days easily. Not apple fan and have both iPhone & Xperia 5 & S21 Ultra. iPhone is used for banking apps mostly. Enjoy both iOS & Android & look forward to rivalry improving user experience in future.

If you swipe phone down from top when on Home Screen and then click on the brightness setting you should see ‘True Tone’ in bottom right hand corner on this brightness setting screen.

If no ‘True Tone’ on or off setting here it means it’s not an original OLED screen (I’ve read this OLED screen check advice on a previous HUKD deal and it works on my XS Max):

Here is a screen shot of a original OLED screen brightness setting screen: (edited)

They can replace it with an oled replica and unless you look at the same image next to each other, it’d be hard to tell
