Zen 2, 4 cores 8 threads with 2 RDNA2 cores if anyone is wondering.

Really dislike how AMD is obfuscating the 3 year old cpu architecture with the Ryzen 7000 series name, it's so misleading.

DON'T buy this. The display is pathetic, TN in 2023...absolute junk. The CPU is also a 4C8T rehash of old Zen tech that performs substantially worse than even a 2 year old 5500U. The Swift 3 deal is so much better it's not even funny, for barely any more money. In fact just about anything is better, even bargain basement laptops these days at least have IPS displays. This is so bad it's basically a scam.

5500u is a six core processor compared to this 4core (edited)

Seems hard to justify, even with the 16GB DDR5 ram. That cpu should not be featuring dated zen 2 architecture with (basically) vega 8 graphics performance. It's quite literally the ryzen 3 7320u with added cache and a higher boost clock. It's worse in almost every aspect to the ryzen 5 5500u. On the surface it seems reasonable, but at the end of the day it's the most entry level ideapad that Lenovo have to offer (Ideapad 1). A TN panel is barely justifiable on a £169.99 N4020 brand new ideapad slim 1i, and it almost certainly is terrible at this price point.
If you've never come across a TN panel before, just think of an IPS panel, but with 100% worse viewing angles, and no angle by which the entire display would look decent.
