At lower settings maybe but 6700 or particularly 6700 XT is the best bang for buck 1440p card on the market.

For the Nvidia shills - this is 2080 performance.
3060 12gb gives 10% less pure rasterisation performance
    3060ti gives 10% more

For those who might think this is déjà vu, I posted the same question in the other deal

Is this a worthwhile upgrade to my Vega 56? (edited)

when the monitor costs more than the vga , then you have a problem. 240 is not cheap and that vega is stretched a lot . Personally , i would gather some electronics junk , like old mobiles , tables ,consoles , THAT vega etc... and i would go in a heart beat at cex ditch them there and with 240 on top of the vouchers you can get a nice rtx 2080ti 11g ram for 300 or rtx 3080 10g ram for 420 . amazing value , good ammount of vram and most important , 2 years warranty , wich is amazing. Regardless what you do , get at least 2080ti or 3070ti for ram and ray tracing and dlss. For your monitor you need ram and some raw power , and when is not enough , then dlss will help a lot. Even if you trade the vega 56 you get at least 60 for it , just enough to put you on a 2080ti bracket. You will blown away by performance boost .As a side note , if you can run vega56 with your psu , you should be able to run 2080ti/3080 with the similar power consumption. Assuming you get enough for a 3080ti/3090 , you would need at least 850w psu and buy 3090 over 3080ti even if they have similar perf in most of the games , the extra ram for 3090 will make a massive difference on newer/future titles on high res

would this make a good upgrade from a rx580 to play quakelive at either 4k 120 or 1080p 240?

I can play apex legends at 300fps with a card 98% like this at 1080p low settings (edited)

Would this be a significant upgrade from an RX 580? i've had this or a 6700XT on my mind but i'm waiting for the 6700XT to drop below £300.

rx580 is about the same as a 1060 depending on gpu ram

this card is about the same as a 2080

which is about the same as a 3060 or so

so yes an upgrade , decent enough , but i don't know for sure the value or how it stands in the market place
