I was torn on that HP... Faster CPU, slower memory... Couldn't decide.

Is this good for someone who wants to do photo editing? Graphics design?

No. The screen is poor for this with limited colour accuracy.

This was £455 at Laptops Direct earlier this week when those two pricing error Legions popped up.

So you are comparing deals with price errors?

2GB ram is lost as it’s reserved for the internal video card.. I added another 8GB but it wasn’t easy cracking the case open.

Yes, that sounds right, it's worth upgrading to 16GB for dual-channel support as you did anyway. The base is clipped tight but if you use mobile opening tools (eg plectrum and stiff nylon pry tool) you should be able to do it without damage.

Paid same price last year for basically same laptop with 5600h and more importantly rtx 3060. Think this year's is a bit of a downgrade. Decent laptops though and upgrading the ram was easy and can add more storage too. That alone makes it better than most these days.

That deal was incredible and never came up again - I don’t think they planned to stack two discounts like that and we’ve never seen anything like it again since. 3060 laptops have gone up in price if anything - probably because 40-series are so greedily priced.

This is now down to 559.99.

Im after a laptop for my wife, shes mainly into playing the likes of the sims, dead by daylight and so on. Would this be enough to smoothly run, does the specs now comfortably fit the price tag. This would be a Christmas present also.
