Great action film, a must see
Twenty Five years after its original release, Luc Besson's most incredible movie, Leon (Director's Cut), has been stunningly restored. Visually stylish and graphically violent, this intensely emotional film contains career defining performances and stands up as one of the top action- thrillers of all time whilst offering great depth and substance to the tragic multi-layered heroes.
Info added by Rmcstar

Mathilda (Natalie Portman) is only 12 years old, but is already familiar with the dark side of life: her abusive father stores drugs for corrupt police officers, and her mother neglects her. Léon (Jean Reno), who lives down the hall, tends to his houseplants and works as a hired hitman for mobster Tony (Danny Aiello). When her family is murdered by crooked DEA agent Stansfield (Gary Oldman), Mathilda joins forces with a reluctant Léon to learn his deadly trade and avenge her family's deaths.

Yeah the 15 year old he "dated" was only a background actor in this film. My mistake. The point wasn't about this film. It was about not giving your money to people who "date" children when they are twice their age. Maybe that is normal to you?

Nope it isn't normal to me it is disturbing.
I initially thought you were referring to Milla Jovovich who he married.
I just looked it up and they first met when she was 12 but it doesn't seem to bother the French who apparently have no law against it.

They do have a law for age of consent it is 15 >

So Luc Besson acted legally, but socially in the modern world where things have evolved it isn't acceptable, in the eyes of the law he acted legally though.

Stick to the theatrical release; the Director's Cut is interesting for fans, but IMO, the other is preferable.

Yep agreed, it's worth watching once but I feel it lessens the movie. Theatrical is the one

Besson had a child with the star when she was 16 and he was 33 (apparently started "dating" when she was 15). Any decent person shouldn't be giving that man a penny of their money.

No relevance to this movie, unless you really think he had a child with Natalie Portman?

Maïwenn met film director Luc Besson when she was 12 and he was 29, and they began dating when she was 15. In January 1993, at age 16, she gave birth to their daughter Shanna
