I suspect the new 13th gen are much, much faster with better iGPU. If you know you need it, you will already be getting it.
My current work laptops has a 1235U which is a 15W / Turbo upto 55W. And compared to my old ThinkPad T540p with a 4200M (rated 37W), the new laptop throttles unless it given a 90W power supply whereas the old T540p was fine with 45W one. Something does not add up. SQL performance is dire too but apparently that's mostly Windows 11 thing rather the hybrid P/E cores thing.
Pretty disappointed in Alder Lake.
