Seems a good price for this, been debating another mini or the full size one for upstairs seeing how good my current mini is. Also on the hunt for a MX Master 3S...

As a heads up the Unifying Receiver has a hardware based (i.e. unpatchable) vulnerability - separate to previous 'Mousejack' ones - where the pairing key can be captured during the initial pairing sequence as well as when the USB is removed. This can then be used to decrypt keypresses (i.e. keylogging).

This is the main reason why Bolt came about but honestly isn't not a big deal unless you unplug the receiver dongle a lot. Pretty sure bluetooth isn't impacted either. Just a risk to bear in mind.

Minor question - is the space between the keys the same on the mx mini and the full sized mx keys?
    zer0nis's avatar
Yep. I've owned both - moved from this model to the Mini version and they're the same.

The only difference is the Mini uses Bolt and the full size one uses the Unifying Receiver.

That's for the mini version without the number pad.

The version in the deal with the number pad is £99.99 at Argos.

Amazing keyboard. Well worth the money. I can seamlessly switch between 3 devices. Love it

Quality is utter crap . The backlighting stopped working after 20 months of use. Really p'ed me off considering I've taken the utmost care of it, making sure nothing ever damages it... If you don't care for the backlighting, then go ahead and buy as it's a good keyboard aside from build quality, ofc.

Brilliant keyboard. Used it daily for over a year at work.

    Battery life is tremendous

Does this have low enough latency for gaming?

My mechanical keyboard is great, but it's such a dust trap, and going wireless and quiet sounds pretty good.

.... Must be getting old... (edited)

You could put a cover over the gaming KB, like a cloth or perhaps buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust off periodically. Not sure what to do about the click-clack sound you get from mechanical keyboards though

I have the Mac version and it's the best keyboard I've used. I was lucky to see 2 come up on eBay for £40, so bought them both. I like the concave keys and heavier weight for a "plastic" keyboard. I connect the USB-C cable for 1 day per month to keep it charged. (edited)

    That's the Italian layout though.

This is a great keyboard, although one downside for me is that when it is being used wirelessly, the blacklight LEDs turns off around 5 seconds after typing, then re-appears when typing again to save battery. Unfortunately you can't turn this feature off, the only way to overcome this is by plugging it in, but only then, the time is delayed to 20-30 secs.
A personal bug of mine with it, as it can be quite distracting - this is the only downside to it though, everything else is great. Anyone seen a fix to my problem? (edited)

    I turn off the backlight

I can't recommend this keyboard. The keys on mine started to smudge just after 4 months, and I'm not a heavy user. 6 months in and E, A, S, and the left shift keys are now smudged so badly I can't make out the writing anymore.

I've always like Logitech peripherals but this is really disappointing, especially for such an expensive product. I wish I'd gone for the Apple Magic Keyboard instead.

Literally bought a gift card to get this and it’s gone! Annoying.

Got this, expected more. Using it in the office, cause mechanical which is better, also is louder. I'd say this isn't worth the one hundy price tag

I have just got the mx keys mini and mx anywhere mouse and I agree. Was expecting it to be somewhat of an experience to use as these are highly rated on hotukdeals. They don't seem much better than my laptop keyboard and cheap mouse. Only things that stand out are the concave keys and the scroll wheel.
