    Been this a few times. Very good for light use stuff, if you already have batteries and a charger. If not, the official ones are damn expensive. You can get cheaper chargers on the bay. Batteries too, though they obviously wont be any where near as good as the official ones, but for light use probably fine. (edited)

    The Milwaukee 12v stuff gets excellent reviews - even against 18v stuff.
    I've no idea how the Makita stuff compares, but probably best not to dismiss it out of hand.
