What may not be evident is that the tool at the top is free to rotate within the handle. So it follows the contour of whatever edge that it is contact with. So, does the job incredibly quickly compared with anything else - aka, "the right tool for the job".

True, unless you are doing a lot of work with sheet metal, you can deburr edges with other things. Hands for example. A flat or round file. The latter is probably going to be significantly larger and not just clipped to your pocket, like a pen, so has to be fetched and returned. Or mislaid.

Oh, it does a good job of detecting burrs that might not be noticed. So, running it around an edge of stock in case there might be a burr present - as it it so quickly done, that there is no significant time waste.

I put it in the same class as a fibreglass propelling pencil. It's nice to have something that does precisely what it was designed to do - even if not useful for much more.

I bought this the last time it was this price. Had no idea why at the time, but use it a lot. One of those tools you wish you bought years ago

It's like a fancy Stanley knife but without all the other applications

I don't think you'd get as good a finish with a Stanley knife as with a deburrer, plus it'd take longer and you're liable to cut yourself.

If in doubt ream er out

We’ve used these in work for decades, if you’re left handed good luck as none of the lefties in work can get a decent finish with these……

Thought the same but then neighbour left a load of copper pipe in her skip. One thing led to another including compression joins Since more & more. Am low-skilled untrained, I could not have used metal how I now do. Deburred cut edges so no fingers get sliced if nothing else. Simple tool works very well right-handed copper, aluminium & plastics.
