sorted bySlightly offtopic but I'm kind of sad how expensive chicken thighs have got. They were always a great budget option to buy compared to how expensive chicken breast is. If you deboned the thighs you'd end up with about 750g of chicken meat for about £1.70.
To make it more affordable I now buy skin on, bone in 2kg. Net weight ends up being about 1.1 kg. It takes more time and work on my part but it makes them about half the price of equivalent thigh fillets prepared by Asda. No doubt when everyone does this in a few years time it won't be much cheaper to buy skin on, bone in. (edited)
We get 1kg skin on from Ocado and lose no more than 200g in bones when preparing.
Could we have a quick show of hands .. thigh v breast.. 🏽 (edited)
VOTED HOT!
