sorted bydo it all the time, but i was feeling groggy. I shook it off, and headed out
About 2 miles in and i felt a full on fever brewing, aching joints, back pain- it was rough- i decided to push through it
Around the 6-7 mile mark i felt the full on pain from all the joints. I sat down and it felt like i really didn't want to get up,
I pushed through, walking on pure instinct
In the back on my mind i could hear David goggins screaming, "who's gonna carry the boats"
I said, "I am Goggy. I am"
The last couple of miles were rough. It was barely over 10 miles but it felt like a 30 mile walk. I felt the body giving up, But i refused to back down to that ego maniac Goggins
Finally it was over, i felt an instant crash as my body realised it was over. My team mate looked over at me, "good walk"
I nodded, "yeah, i had a huge fever, I'm glad i managed"
I never mentioned the aches and pains until it was over, there was just a slight nod between us. He understood, if i mentioned it, he might go easy.... I wouldn't accept that- he would accept nothing less from himself. The sheer masculine energy must have been through the roof.
I got home, dragged my body to the shower, and let out a gutteral roar....The desire to collapse faded as the warm water washed over me.
All of this is to say, you cant change the hand you are dealt, but you can choose the shoes you wear. These are good trainers.
If you intend to run on them, FORGET IT.
Even walking the memory foam is not very confortable.
