This is a new new 2ds but is it an older model to the newer new 3ds? And do you get the XL version or not?

Is it a better deal to get a fairly new non new 3ds / 2ds?

    I've given up on purchasing a new / old 3DS / 2DS / XL / non XL.

Can't decide between this and 3ds XL , is this really flimsy compared to 3ds XL ?

How are the buttons etc feel like ?

It will be the same quality as the new 3DS XL but without the 3D part of it...I have a old 3DS XL and a couple of old 2DS' for my kids and there doesn't seem to be any difference in quality overall apart from the 3D element between the two models...

Most reviews say this is the best 2DS/3DS version yet (and probably the last). Most games don't use the 3D anyway so save a few quid and grab this one.

Also it's basically this price on Argos right now with their £10 voucher deal. I'm considering biting and then using the £10 straight up to buy Zelda.

Utterly freezing IMHO. Only Nintendo can repackage nearly seven year old hardware and sell it for up to £150! Actually even less capable than the original 2011 3DS as it lacks the product lines one killer app, the 3D! So you actually get LESS with this than with the 3DS in 2011, yet still crazy consumers are lapping it up, we are truly at the stage where Nintendo can literally do no wrong, a very sad day indeed.

This totally unnecessary (the New 3DS systems were already of better build quality and the 3D could easily be turned off) iteration of the 3DS is like Nintendo admitting they were wrong to follow 3D all along and pretty much kills off any chance of any further 3DS games using 3D in any meaningful way since any new customers wouldn't even have hwardware capable of showing it!

You could argue that the new 2DS is for the kids, but up to £150 is hardly kid friendly pricing. This system should have been sold at £99 tops as the 7 year old hardware powering these will be literally costing Nintendo pennies letting them enjoy crazy high margins on every 2DS sold….

I'm sure we'll see a nice low price for this on Black Friday. Hold on.
