it's PC people like you that are turning this country in to an immigrant … it's PC people like you that are turning this country in to an immigrant welcoming third world dumpif you want the benefit claiming melting pot then can you pay for it and not me ? and tbh that's the only things I have ever seen on there has nothing to do with skin colour or racism at all but as ever you cant even talk about immigration and such matters as you are immediately labelled a racist

Disgusting attitude. Where were you 50-60 years ago, moaning about the Indians, Chinese, Nepalese, Pakistanis? You've got absolutely no idea, jog on.

No, the owner (Spie), made a topic about how Indians smell - nothing about being PC, but complete and utter racism. He's a self-professed racist and has banned people from the forums (which I've been a member on for many years) who spoke up against him for coming out with it.

OCuk review system is dodgy.... try writing a bad product review.. they will never publish it.

Very misleading for customers looking for honest reviews on products, they loose all credibility for me.

Tell me about it, I remember being so annoyed at them about my DOA mobo that when they finally agree to send me another, I thought I'd mark the corner of it and I'm glad I did as sent me my original back as a replacement

Trust me DO NOT buy from this company, if something goes wrong with the product they are a nightmare to deal with.

Quick enough to take your money but customer service is probably the worst on the internet

do a google search, im not even bothered about their bad CS. Not sure if its still out there but on their own forums they used to discuss race related issues and advocate negative stereotypes (such as why a particular ethnicity would smell bad). The company hierarchy would take part and, in doing so encourage these discussions.

What a scumbag. I'm definately never buying anything from them no matter how cheap. Hardly a coincidence that those ignorant views are held within a company that is also apparently unprofessional and sneaky.

I guess if you don't mind taking the risk with OCUK/VTX, don't mind the BNP leadership, don't want to wait a few months for the next gen of cards, and you are planning to buy Deux Ex anyway, it's a decent price.

Amazon are actually great with their review system. AFIAK it isn't filtered and reviews aren't pre-approved.

eBuyer do the same. It put me off buying there because you're hard pressed to find items < 4/5 stars. I wrote a big negative review on a pair of crap headphones I bought which broke and it never saw the light of day - while the headphones stayed up with glistening 5* rating

    Scan = The kings.
    Yoyo tech = close 2nd.
Ebuyer = if you really have too.
OCUK = bunch of gypsies working from a caravan somewhere in the midlands. Avoid.

From a system builder with experience of all of them. No doubt people will disagree but this is my opinion ignore it or heed it at your discreation.

Lots of bad publicity on them over the net, a lot more than the usual people buying DDR3 RAM that won't fit into a DDR2 board then blame the supplier.

Bad CS, a LOT of packages coming incomplete, broken ETC.

Snap. Had a HDD that was DOA and they made me jump through hoops to prove that it was actually dead (even though I explained that it wouldn't power up and couldn't be detected by the PC due to this). Spent a day running different tests on it, just so they would accept that it was dead.

True but the same applies to Scan in my experience. I have had problems with Ebuyer too... less so, but it was a big item and it **** me off.

    +3, +4, +5, +6 ..

They work through their forum, which might be worth more than the shop itself because it is a religion in its own beancounting time. Within those dark confines, one could easily witness numpties pouring out their ignorance about cheap goods [they are not, they work like "Tesco"] and quick delivery [because OC runs their own courier service, of course] and similar mesmerised religiosities. The type who when asked to "Open wide", will reply enthusiasitcally, "Is that wide enuff, pretty pleeasee..."

Had received a used mobo tarted as brand new and it once took them 4 months [and that was after much goading and being told not to be a drama queen.. !!] to replace a Dvd drive which costs only £16 at the time. Glad I stopped 2 others from customising there. It is wise to remember that leopards do not change spots because those spots are genetic. The facade might change, of course. Some Swedish pop group song about money suits them to a tee. To them, a customer is jest money rollin' in and service is Scrooge's money being put to worthless surplus employment. Nothing else matters to these jokers other than that ole "Chosen Few" saying of, "Ve vont take "No" fur zer answer..." You shore do, you lucky devil you.
  38. richb93's avatar
If you do have problems with the standard RMA route, contact the customer service via their forums. I've done this and they were very helpful. They did ask me to run a few tests first but to be fair asking a customer to do so is entirely understandable as it avoids returning the item just to find out that the fault was elsewhere.

I try and stick with Amazon now when it comes to tech (especially after the exchange issues with OcUK). I may end up sometimes paying a bit more than some places for it, but at least I know I am not going to get problems if I need to return / exchange it.
