Why is it every time someone posts an Omega watch deal you feel the need to come out with some comment about the cost, at least this one is slightly less annoying than your previous ‘freeze their bank accounts’ post.

wow.....too expensive even with the discount. You can get a whole collection of old VHS Recorders for that, all with a built in clock. You then only have to place them strategically around your home and voila!!

Personally I object to the idea of putting a chrono complication into a divers watch. You don't add extra holes in a diver watch, it challenges the whole purpose of the watch.

And before someone says "but most people will never dive with it" - I know, but it's still a dive watch. Most people will never break 200mph in a Ferrari, it doesn't mean we should stick some extra weight in the back and trash the top speed. (edited)

I wish I had £2970 to spend on a watch.

£8 a day over a year (and it will last decades...) I imagine most people will spend that on cigs, alcohol or coffee.

That one isn't a chronograph - can you honestly not see the difference?

A good quality watch is an investment, i paid £2440 for a Rolex Seadweller in 2004, it’s currently away for its first service which admittedly was a bit of a cost £1100 but it will come back as new, I kept all box and papers and jeweller said the watch value now is. between £6k to £7.5k, so basically my outlay has been £3.5k I wear it almost every day and it’s doubled in value, if I’m ever in a situation where I need urgent cash its the equivalent of having £7k in the bank, hopefully this never happens and I will eventually pass on to my son when I bite the dust ! Moral of the story is yes top end watches are expensive but make the correct choice and they are as good an investment as saving in a bank account or buying property. (edited)

A post like this always brings the lefty socialists out their caves. Just because it cant be afforded by an individual doesn't make it a bad deal for others who can. People need to stop only thinking about themselves.

Is the sweeping hand worth a premium of £2,500 over the Certina which is around £480?https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collections/sale-watches/products/certina-watch-ds-action-chrono-quartz-c032-417-11-041-00-crt-164

In my opinion yup it is. Yup, it’s a lot of money but for an Omega Automatic Chronograph , it’s actually a great price. Don’t get me wrong, I’d wear that Certina all day long. It’s gorgeous but we can’t compare a Certina with an Omega.

Despite some folk getting riled over other people spending money on watches, or having assertions about one watch over another, these threads can be pretty useful.

There's a lot of knowledge in the enthusiasts on here - one guy offered up the approach I needed to take to get a 15yr old Seiko working again, which saved me a min of £50.

I like these threads, even if I'm not in the market for what's on offer.

So what did we learn yet AGAIN?

    A) A “good looking and attractive” watch is subjective.
    B) A “value watch deal” is subjective.
    C) Some people just DON’T GET watches and likely never will.

PS. Does anyone not know I finally got my hands on a Seiko Samurai Dawn Grey this week? Just worried I might have missed someone. (edited)

You talk like you are a lottery winner with millions of pounds in the bank

Nope, not even close but I can afford a 3k watch and a decent car. What people choose to spend their money on is their business. Watches often hold value so in some ways it’s better than a second hand car if you look after it.

Spending 3k on a decent watch is probably a better idea and buying junk which is worth nothing after a few months of owning it, TVs and the like.

There are plenty of people out there who do well in life without being a millionaire.

I bought the blue 44mm version of this in December. It was up for £4000, but they gave 20% discount I also bought the speed master mk II later the same month but from Frazer Heart. That was £3400 in the sale, they gave me discount and ended up paying £2800.

If this was the 44mm version I'd go and buy the black one too, as I sold my 41.5mm one last month for £2500, which was £800 more than I paid.

Their should be a few sale on this, as it's now a discontinued in this form. (edited)

    Rattled your cage have I?

Posters on HUKD go to some length to post deals. Whether those deals are hot or cold, posters should be given some appreciation for taking the time and effort to share that deal. Countering that deal (incorrectly) without any research or even sharing a link, simply saying “it’s cheaper somewhere else”, is just lazy.

I don’t have a large watch collection actually, but that’s not any of your business.

    Have a good day (edited)

I’ve 2 tags and an old gold Swiss watch and was gonna get an omega but got an Apple Watch instead and now I can’t go back to my good watches it’s so handy with a smart watch, otherwise I’d love this watch. Getting the apple watch is worst thing I’ve ever done, it looks horrible is cheap plastic watch but it’s just so handy for work and gym etc I’d be lost without it.
