I saw on a previous post that it gets so busy weekends and kids holidays its not worth going. Anyone know how bad it would be on a random midweek outside of the kids holidays?

Go to the 1 in billund denmark. I did it on a random weekend in may. Got there for 8pm Friday spent the full day Saturday and flew back at 9pm Saturday night. The longest queue was about 10 minutes and they have a much better selection of rides. It cost me less to go there than it did to the Windsor one and so much quieter and better (edited)

If you do go, could I ask one favour?

Could you please heckle the queue jumpers. I know they pay extra to do this; that doesn't make it any better.

The queues are only so long because of these queue jumpers, with their own shamefully hidden line.

If we don't acknowledge that this 'unbritish' behaviour is unacceptable it will infiltrate into other areas of life as it has done at Airports etc. Queue jump to see your GP? Certainly sir. And, as a result, the wait for Joe public will be ever the longer.

So let's put a stop to this now, shall we?

So you want to take it up with the people who pay rather then Legoland it self?

    UK theme parks are crap

The weather makes them even worse

If you like hours of queuing this is a bargain. For anyone else, just don't bother. We managed only 4 rides in a whole day. I wouldn't even go back if it was free.

    What date did you go?

We went last year (30 June) in the heatwave and it was very busy.

However, longest queue was about 35mins.

To visit Lego land i would recommend doing it over two days to get your moneys worth. We got a package which allowed a second day free and we stayed overnight at a local hotel (20mins away). Hotel was budget but probably better than some 4 star hotels i stayed in and staff were amazing.

Doing it over two days will give you enough time to visit all the rides and you won't be in a rush.

We went one weekend in May. It was busy but average wait for rides were 15 to 20 mins (we did not do the haunted house which looked like 40mins wait). i would imagine it would be more busy during the summer holidays.

Everyone will try to get to the park at opening time and everyone will leave at closing of the park so expect traffic getting in and out on those times.

Good deal, got tickets for £18 with the national lottery days out deal couple of weeks ago. Went last weekend, is busy. Got there for 0930 & didn’t queue for more then 25mins for a ride but did our top choices before 11- flight of sky lion & deep sea adventure.

So..... we are going to pretend to be teachers for a day, ha.
    packard's avatar
That’s easy you would be there on a day off

Enjoyable but prepare to be spending way more in the park than it takes to buy a ticket.
Tip - if you want to do that splash ride, you will get drenched. Either take a poncho or something similar (rain cover). They charge a fortune to stand in the drying boothes outside.

went last year, queues were crazy. only benefit was if you got there and entered the park as soon as it opens, you would get three quick rides before the rush starts

Back on topic regarding the offer itself if ok. if I was to purchase these is there a need to show any form of proof I am a teacher does anyone know? Keen to book for my sons birthday but wouldn’t want to ruin the day… many thanks
    amz84uk's avatar
There shouldn’t be any need to show any form of proof as a teacher.

As long as the tickets are purchased with a valid bar code, it’ll be scanned at the gate and entry allowed.

    Enjoy your sons birthday!

I’ve been twice, once in school time and once out and if you get on 3-4 rides you’ve done well… if the thought of spending £100+ on a bunch of family tickets is of no concern for you, you might as well drop another £70 each and get an unlimited fast pass. It’s the only way to have a good day here if rides are your main interest. ( I haven’t and can’t! - but seems like a park where fast pass is the only way to maximise your day)
    amz84uk's avatar
It’s the same sort of technique across most theme parks - these “fast track passes” are supplementary income for the attraction, and it’s unfair for others who pay standard price.

There should really be a cap on how many fast track prices are sold a day, and threshold on the number of rides that a person can take advantage of.

We went to Drayton Manor Park a couple of months ago, and the queue for the ride wasn’t moving at all. We then realised it was because all the fast track guests were going on the ride from another queue. And alot of those guests were joining the queue again and again.

Been seriously thinking about Merlin passes (£209 x 3) because youngest really wants to do Legoland in the holidays.

Unfortunately every parent in London has these passes so they treat it like a nursery on their doorstep. Surely there should be a surcharge to every Londoner so that the rest of the country can have a day out without the long waits if they can afford Khans EZ charges, they can afford a £50 surcharge to take their kiddies out.
    Robildn's avatar
It takes ages to get into the park as it is, imagine them checking everyones id at the gates to make sure they are not londoners!

Now what’s the Best way to get cheap children tickets?
    amz84uk's avatar
Just purchase this “adult” teachers ticket.

You’ll be fine getting entry for a child too.

Adult tickets are usually more expensive than a Child.

I’ve taken the risk myself and purchased an adult ticket for my son, but now wishing I paid the extra tenner just for his ticket with the £35 summer promo they have on. If anyone is planning on doing the same and is visiting the park in the next few weeks would you be kind enough to report on how this went for you please many thanks  (edited)
    deanos's avatar
If it's like towers and thorpe you just scan your ticket at turnstiles they very rarely get checked , there are no child tickets anyway as all same price , I don't think there will be a problem
