The warrington site is run down, tacky as hell and needs lots of TLC to get it looking great however my kids (6 and 4) loved it. They talk about it more than CBeebies land and DLP. Kids don't notice the aesthetics, they just enjoy the rides and attractions and this place has loads for the young ones to do. I always felt safe on the rides. We took a picnic so I can't comment on the catering.

Not a bad offer, not great mind. Paid £139 last year for the safari tent, a different 'resort i agree' but from what I've seen I'm not sure this is worth £40 more :-/

Thanks for sharing op, good saving. But I would suggest people have a look first on Trip advisor before booking Gulliver world is very run down and not fit for purpose and has lots of bad reviews on trip advisor. This one may be better. Gullivers world Gullivers land appears to be better rated

"RCT Classic is essentially a slightly-remastered version of the original two RCT games. The game was developed by Origin8 (with Chris Sawyer listed as the Executive Producer), who also ported Chris Sawyer’s Transport Tycoon to mobile." "RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic does have in-app purchases, but only three of them - and are in no way required to play the game. The first two DLC consist of two expansion packs from RCT 2, and the third is simply called 'Toolkit.'"

Such a good game. Used to spend so much time building a massive staff room with pool tables (lol)

I’m fed up with announcing, I want to go home. Patients please keep your germs to yourself. Could people please try not to be sick in the corridors. Please don’t feed the vermin, thank you.

Before booking school holidays online it might be worth ringing. They seem to have offers not available on the website. I asked for a quote for this 40% deal but the agent mistakenly thought I asked for the “40% off including tickets” deal.... My August dates comparison for a family of 4 in splash landing; 2 nights B&B only online= 270 2 days tickets only (discounted thru work)= 140 total=£410 2 nights short break online inc 2 days tickets = £575 2 nights short break over-the-phone inc 2 days tickets = £395

Hi just wondered if anyone using this offer has been and did they have to show a Merlin annual pass? Can’t wirk out if you need a pass to use code b40. Thanks

I've stayed there and it's AWFUL!! The food costs a fortune and the staff aren't particularly helpful. We ended up leaving a day early.

I've just booked this deal to stay in their Shark hotel. (shipping container or not, I don't care) I don't sleep with my eyes open, do you? Anyhow, we don't have to drive the car anywhere else at night or back again in the morning, no parking to worry about on either side, (as there is only the one side), free breakfast, free park entry x2 days and the deal I managed to get IN THE MAY HALF TERM for 1 adult plus 2 children, WITH free cancellation (£9.xx extra) came to £100.34. It was coming out more if I said it was 1 adult, 2 children (an extra £20) but as soon as I changed it to 2 adults and 1 child (all went through as ADULTS anyway) it came down to just over £90. I double checked the tickets by the gate, and adults and any children aged 3 and above were charged adult rate and so the rooms accept no more than 4 heartbeats, regardless of size. So I do find it very strange that they charge more for an extra child and less adults. Very bizarre as even the breakfast is included and a child eats less of that too. Oh well, I'm happy. Thanks for posting.

Well I certainly appreciate how much you wrote and I read it right to the very end. So thank you! I think I will have to stay in one of the very tiny rooms though as we are 3 hours drive from Thorpe Park. It sounds like a good deal and like you had a great time.

I booked for end of may 30/31 and it was £59 for two so just under £30 each

Why would anyone want to stay in a shipping container?

They generally open the park earlier that 10 to people staying in their shipping containers so it's more like 1.5 - 2 hours of fast track. When we went we managed to do all the main rides and a couple repeats in that time. Enjoyed those 2 hours more than the rest of the time there as I hate queues (but love adrenaline). Top tip: remember to turn the ac on at night or everything inside will be wet with moisture in the morning...

We were thinking of going tomorrow was just a little put off about the park only being open 10-4, we may not get there till 11am if there is traffic. Only other time would be in June but don't know if it would be busy with school trips the then. Anyone know what it is normally like midweek early June? Would you get on more rides going 10ish-4 in May or 10ish-5.30 in June?

BTW this deal seems to have ended last week. Tried to book but kept saying that there was no availability. Phoned them up and they had plenty of rooms for a higher price

It never is I'm afraid. So unfair for families with school going aged kids, especially single parents or lower income families. Not everyone can afford these extortionate rates. Quite disappointing actually.

Yes they are, we get a Passholder discount and it is almost double the price at weekends and school hols even with that, hence why we have only done it once lol, it’s a lovely stay though, worth the experience

Arrive on the first day for park opening, you can either leave bags in the car or with hotel reception and enjoy the park all day, check in is from 3pm so if the park closes later (it’s never earlier than 5pm) you can check in later if you want to. You get your stay overnight then need to be out by 10am, out of the hotel though, not the park so again it’s bags in car early or just leave them with reception, keep in mind you will want to enjoy your breakfast and early park entry so getting bags out early is a good idea. We stayed in March and took our bags back to the car by 8am, had breakfast and were on park for the 9am entry, all your parking is free, they give you a voucher at check in. You need to book breakfast, it is free but it gets busy and is time slotted, swimming is the same and so are hotel restaurants if you want a lunch or evening meal, book them a week in advance, you don’t pay for meals unless you turn up and order and you can cancel your table if you change your mind. Also there is usually entertainment in the evening at the hotel and it’s fun so you might want to book any evening meal you want quite early so you don’t miss it. I wouldn’t worry about booking a themed room unless you really are that keen on it and want swimming included, we slept and showered in ours and yes it was lovely but there wasn’t much time to truly enjoy it so a basic room is plenty really, if you choose standard you will need to pay £3 per person for swimming though. We visit a lot but have only stayed over once, get menus from the website in advance and enquire at the hotel about the entertainment schedule for the night of your stay, the inclusive breakfast is very generous too, if you want to eat or drink during the daytime from any of the park food outlets it is cheaper to book meal deals and all day refillable drink bottles in advance, just go to the Chessington food and drink page, hope this helps

Erm....not that price for actual school holidays...

Very limited dates for me, not worth booking if kids at school.

Not really worth any more than £11 - I went last year for £9 and still felt ripped off! The food (and the hygiene) is vile, the rides are either closed or should be closed (the wooden ones give you splinters, they're filthy etc) and the staff try their best but ugh the place is a total dump and it's sad to see. I will never go back.

Such a shame to see the bad reviews, and to hear that the place isn’t being maintained as it should- I took my kids here over summers for a good 10 years. The planting was always lovely and all areas maintained when I was going there. To be fair, as this park caters for children from toddler age, I think the park expects people to bring their own packed lunches. We always did. Hence the lack of catering choices and availability, and the many picnicking areas provided. One of my kids was always little, so we had the pushchair anyway. I’d say that the Antelope is an old fashioned style wooden rollercoaster and getting slung about is what you’d expect, and they are bob on with safety, warnings, checking height etc. We always tried to get there early as they do close promptly. 5pm I think? Oh, and the entrance area will have people getting tall kids out of the pushchair to stand against the measuring point. Not fair if your kids are tall, as they’ll be tall enough that you had to pay, but actually too young to go on many rides, but hey, how else can they manage it? And it’ll be one summer that your little one loses out on a few rides, so who cares? We had such great times there, I do hope they spruce the place up. Good to know that the safety is still good, and like I said, the catering has never been up to much, as most people bring their own.

We went last year and it really is as bad as the Trip Advisor reviews. Yes they are cheaper tickets than usual, but I wouldn’t consider them good value from what I saw last year.

Wish I'd have been aware of this last week, just took my young 'un on Saturday to the Warrington one and thought it was alright myself. Was a lot bigger than I'd expected, didn't get chance to get round the full lot, mind you my son loved some of the rides so much he insisted on going on twice.

We love walking & the outdoors & at no point were we expecting rides. However we found most places to be unkept or dangerous broken parts. Also they have a touch, smell, feel area for younger kids. Our daughter wanted to try it all. The herb garden was just weeds, again with most parts broken or run down. The worst for us was when our daughter put her hand in a touch box (you can't see inside) saying feels like play dough. To my partners horror it was filled with bird poo. Not a small amount either, after we found most touch boxes were filled with it. My point simply being if you have younger children just beware staff do not seem to take care of areas. I'd understand if this was a free park, however it's not!

We've been a couple of times, and our kids loved it. I suspect a lot of people go expecting it to be comparable to a theme park with loads of rides, etc... It's more suited to people who like the outdoors, with assault courses and trails, etc... Looking at all the video game deals you two post, I'm not surprised you found it "boring". Best stick to sitting on the couch playing PS4, eh?

We visited here a few months ago. I'm sorry to say but not only is it boring but run down & dirty.

Not that great. Tickets valid until 15th April, discount applies to on door admission prices, £19.99. For 3 people will be £60 -20%= £48.
