The Second being Dudley

Animal prison

I agree, however wher do you set them free? Man needs to stop killing them first. In March this year, The last wild Northern White Rhino male died, there are 2 females left. This basically would be another great animal extinct, this and many other species, if there werent some that are basically protected by being in zoos. Zoos need to change still, there are definitely issues with roaming space, but for now they are the only way species are surviving.

I don't know how they rare highly when everyone says the animals seem uncomfortable. I also went and felt the same. They look miserable.

Awful zoo last time I went there.

Used it this weekend. Don’t forget to pick it up from sea life centre. The queue was exactly nil there at midday Saturday whilst it was a good 20 mins at the tower booking office.

Yes, with one it's before christmas and you get the santa visit, and with the other it's after chrismtas so no need to visit santa.

Hi what is the difference between these 2 is it just the visit to santa ?

Booking has been open since end of May. We got in the CBeebies hotel on 2 December for £263.

Kiddy rides aplenty as that is the target audience for this festive break. No big rides, coasters or other flats'll be open. Expect just Cbeebies, Sea Life (Sharkbait Reef), Marauders Mayhem, etc.

The Crhistmas breaks focus on the kids rides like the CBeebies stuff, I wouldn't expect any major rollercoasters to be open. The 10 year old might find it too boring, depends if they still like Santa.

The one day I admit was extreme and stopped a few times on the way home. Don't think a 3.5 hour drive at half 5 in the morning is particularly tiring. Nor at 6pm for the drive home the second day. Just because you can't handle a long drive after being out for a day doesn't mean others can't. I do 70 miles a day to and from work leaving at 6am so no stranger to long drives in the mornings.

Be careful booking this, said system error this morning so pressed book again and got two booking confirmations!

We just booked santa sleep over as we go every year ..its a brillaint get away for the family and the kids love it

Who is driving tired? Take turns with your other half and every one is fine, its a couple of hours each.. Thanks OP was going to see my mum near Halloween and my boy is Halloween nuts so we were gogin anyway this is better than going for the day.

Super cheap to buy you can get one for £22.95 delivered HERE wouldn't be without ours. Handy in the summer to use outside and as a playpen indoors aka baby jail! :)

Cold! So hopefully my wife doesn't see it!

budapest chrostmas markets are a total rip off, they push all the prices up 5 fold for tourists, food that normally would cost a pound is almost six at the markets. i was there year before last so i'd expect it to be even more now. it was -8 at the coldest when i was there, the homeless people i gave food and blankets too were very ungreatful. we found an english pub that wasn't even remotely english that had happy hour bogof cocktails and £1.30 a litre beer though. shame the city is full of miserabkle faces and most shops and bars full of miserable and rude staff.

I spoke on line, it said £129 per person on 17 Th November, they emailed me a quote for £599 for 2 people. Vote Freezing.

As far as I can see these prices are only a small saving over what you'd pay a short while in advance - e.g. for tomorrow, which allows better checking of the weather if you have a long journey and wouldn't find their "rainy day" offer much use.

Park over the road at St Nicholas for £4.50 all day, rather than £10 at the castle.

I would be taking my retired old man who has never been in a castle lol

It's all pretty good but an extra fiver for the dungeon does seem a bit of a rip off, especially at this time of the year when there's much less to see outside. Personally, I'd say the interiors are really better for older kids who are interested in the fascinating history of this place; without the outdoor activities there's less to interest younger kids.

Is it worth paying to see the Dungeon or just the castle?

Yeah, only once have I been caught out with no fast passes for the mazes, never again. They also open them about 4 and a queue starts around 2:30pm! I never got that. People queuing an hour and a half to avoid a queue, only to go through during daylight hours. Makes no sense. Fast passes usually cost about £15-£20 but just go on their website for all the other information dude, its all there.

Staying at a Travelodge is a fright enough. No need for Thorpe Park.

Thanks for replying. 2-3 hours?! That's crazy! How much are the fast passes, and can they be bought online, on the day, or both do you know? How much time do they save per house/maze? Do you know how much Contagion costs, and if it's worth the extra?

They don't cost any extra, or at least they haven't for the last 10 years. Containment being an exception where you have been able to pay to do this alone in the past. All in all, for a UK Halloween event it isn't bad. Worth the money but if you've ever been to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando or LA then you're in for a crash landing. If not, it is good fun. Although be prepared to have to encounter over hyper teens from the Staines area while in the queues. Which brings me onto Fright Nights maze fast passes, I can't recommend them enough. The queues can easily hit 2-3 hours for each house /maze on a Saturday night.

Oh dear. I see we're back to PP pricing again. For heavens sake, tell it how it really is! Otherwise I'll start posting offers for Jaffa Cakes at 5p each!

Just a warning. Our experience the year before last at Drayton manor for Christmas was pretty awful. We had a pre-scheduled time to see ‘the big man’. There were five of us (mum, dad & three kids). We queued for over an hour in the cold and despite having arrived ten minutes before our allotted time, were pretty hacked off by the time we went in. The queue was outside and we were frozen stiff. When we got in we were rushed through. We had about a minute in the room with FC. The presents were terrible. It was all very poor. Also, many/most of the rides were shut. Not the magical time we were expecting.

Ewwww, too soon - we haven't even had Hallowe'en yet! Thanks for sharing anyway - have some heat! (party)

They shut all the big rides anyway.I think in November, same as Alton towers shuts. Their sleep over has no rides. It is classed as out of season. Personally don't rate the place thomas land isnt all its cracked up to be. But they havent stopped the thrill rides just because they have added a wowcher offer lol & for a santa style sleep over its pretty cheap compared with others.

I don’t understand why Father Christmas is only there til the 24th of December, has he got something else to do?
