This phone launched with android 9 and is a 2019 phone with android 10 update waiting out of the box when you click update in settings and will get android 11 in the summer sorry i forgot to put it in the description (edited)

It just seems like too good a deal to miss. Whilst there's nothing 'wrong' with my phone it's a few years old now - and I think this will be a big update, nice treat, especially after the year we have all had.

Yes, Google Pay (and contactless payments) utilises NFC to communicate with an EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point Of Sale) AKA payment terminal.

This phone (RealMe 5 Pro) doesn't have NFC, hence Google Pay will not work.

If you don't have a reason for needing 8 GB of RAM, then you likely don't need it. While Android is becoming heavier over time, it doesn't require any more than 2 GB to function. 4 GB would still leave you roughly 2 GB to play with. So unless you want instant switching between a dozen apps or play multiple 3D games at the same time then it really won't matter all that much. Having said that, for the little extra it costs on this occassion, it may be worth it for future proofing if you intend to keep the device for a long period of time.

edit, still debating this as upgrade over a moto g5 plus - 8gb ram, camera and splashproof are great features (latter especially for me) but it's a budget phone from best part of 2 years ago - are there any more modern competitors in the sub-£150 band ? (edited)
