My 5600x handled my 4090 at 4k perfectly for those wondering if the CPU is good enough.

If you are going to take last generations CPUs into 4k system, there is no harm in knocking it up with the recent price adjustments to 8Core 5700X as well, its common knowledge the higher reso is more GPU bound, but a good board with GOOD VRMS at this level is needed, a case what offers fantastic airflow and lovely liquid cooler in the mix here at a very good price, a good air cooler is more then enough though but, the price on the aio is really sweet and it looks cosmetically good. (360 fan boi here speaking)

32GB 3600mhz by kingston is nice(RGB +10 one down) and a very good price, followed by the gen4 kingston nvme and I've picked the 1000W PSU, no point messing about with 850W at this spec,

if u do desire the 5800X3D

    49600526_1.jpg
This is from an older 6800xt, the gap in the time was £130 between 5700x to 5800x3d, the gap from 5600x was +40
5600x-5700X which is now £20 on-site, both have come down a little but the 5700X by £10 more then the 5800XT so i expect the sales call to be £140

which would make it a nice lovely £2160 System. (i would personally go 5700X tbh)

don't forget u can use code BBUGER for £20, so place order call up after, or enq first and then place order then recall back ;-) - u could buy a Burger for that. (edited)

Thanks went for your build with 5800X3D. Roll on RE4

Pretty solid build. Awd are decent to deal with and can make custom requests with changes. I'd switch out the psu personally, upgrade the ram and add another ssd and it's sorted... Cracking price.
    1_minute_early's avatar
Any version is OK. 11 brought optimisation for intels new chips. Gaming there's little to no difference either way

If you are gaming at 4K, the cpu doesn’t matter. Even a 5600X will do. If you are going for high fps 1080p esports gaming, forget it. 5600X is not enough.

Performance aside, I would be more worried about spending £1699 on a PC on a discontinued platform. The moment you decide you want to upgrade, you're looking at getting a new MOBO, CPU and RAM. Buy something 7000 series and you're good for years to come, all you will have to change is the CPU itself. (edited)

    Decent

    Just another £600 to go

Why would you have a £1000+ gpu and then use a cheap cpu that's just going to bottleneck all the time. Any good system builder knows the bottleneck should always be the gpu.
    ZeroTheGhostDog's avatar
I mean in an ideal world it would have a better CPU to match the incredible power of the 4080, but let’s not pretend that the 5600x isn’t a powerful CPU in general

If you’re gaming at 4K 60fps , I doubt the CPU will cause any issues

Can change memory to Kingston fury 3600 for £7.99

It's good if you want a sub 4k buy and forget. Small upgrades are possible such as storage and RAM but be aware (like other people have said) it's capped at AM4 (and assuming ddr4, since it's not listed in the specs on hotdeals) . The CPU will be a bottleneck in the future, if you want to upgrade from there you will need to buy almost everything except the GPU again. It will likely handle anything below 4k perfectly

Can I add as someone who bought an upgraded build from this site, that you will need to install the graphics card yourself as they post the build without it installed. So if you’re a total novice this could cause you a lot of issues.
    boro4ever's avatar
How strange both of ours came with everything installed.

Just bought all components minus the gpu for £500

Ryzen 7 5700x, 32gb ram, 1tb nvme etc all on Amazon
    Build it yourself

This rig don’t even have nvme - jeez (edited)
    mattymofo's avatar
Yeah minus the GPU, add the GPU and see how you get on

One thing to consider on this is that for gaming the only CPU upgrade that will be possible to improve performance in games is the 5800X3D, that's it game over done as there are no more CPU upgrade options on AM4 to improve gaming performance. It will play games for years no doubt but it is a platform that has no more options for upgrades beyond the 5800X3D.

son this needs to be put to rest... the x3d does NOT do magic... its literally minor fps gains.. a 4080 will plow through any game... the x3d wont change anything in this build.

What an awful setup to put a 4080 in

What is awful for this for a 4080?

So many companies doing offers with the ryzen 5 series , really surprised the offer is 5600 /5700 .
My 3080 came with the 5800x january.

Was thinking of getting this but got a another pc from awd last week, can I return it, any experience returning to awd ?
    Major774's avatar
As your current PC is not faulty, working and has been opened… Nothing you can do.

If your PC is keeping up with your current games then leave it and enjoy… You end up spending more money when you start buying/selling for upgrades.

Save the money for upgrade time in a few years.
  17. wrapper's avatar
it prob wouldn't bottleneck all the time but it seems like a weird choice to invest in AM4 for that much money now

How much more performant are the 4x series vs the 3x? I read that's only 20% more in native rendering while the 3x was 70% more. The claim that it's 3 times more relies on DLSS which is software and it's not at the stage that it can surpass native rendering, it's something you'd use as a boost to get 60 fps.

Did anyone that bought this confirm does the PC come with windows installed and how long did the PC take to arrive after placing your order ? Did all the components arrive assembled ?
