Probably need a powered one for that, dell docks are very flexible worked with my Lenovo for ages, think this is the one uk.webuy.com/pro…n=2

I want one of these to send iPhone 15 Pro Max to hotel TV etc, but it's been recommended to get a 4K hub that outputs 4K 60Hz, or else you'll face a choppy picture, anybody with experience?

I have experienced both 4k30 and 4k60, and I completely understand your point. The UI appears significantly choppier at 30fps, but since most movies and TV shows are capped at 30fps, you won't notice any difference while watching them. However, if you plan to watch YouTube, where videos are sometimes at 50 or 60fps, you may experience lag and may prefer using 4k60. I'm using 4k60 HDR, and it feels incredibly smooth. If you can find a good deal on it, I highly recommend it. I purchased a Fenvi dock from AliExpress for £10, and it works great. Note that not every dock support HDR over 4k60. (edited)

    Thanks.

For the basic trio of USB-A+HDMI+USB-C I don't think there is anything cheaper I've seen.

Would it work for two monitors connected to the laptop if I had one hdmi to my laptop and another one to this extension?

I just received this and noticed that the actual resolution output via HDMI is locked at 4k@30Hz
If you set any lower resolution in Windows 11 - the image is scaled but is locked at 30HZ
i.e. you cant set 1080P @60Hz or @120Hz or 1440P@60 Hz etc. Is there a workaround or is this a limitation of these hubs. I have a dock for my steam deck and this doesnt have the same limitation.

oh that was weird. After I wrote this, I noticed that the 1920x1080@60Hz did work. I also tried 120Hz on my tv and it also worked. even 1440P@60. I just had to ACCEPT the chosen setting (even when nothing was being displayed by my tv) and wait for around 10secs for the signal to be correctly displayed by my tv (edited)
