Weird looking bike but not in a bad way, again though a highly proprietary mid-drive motor ebike which are not particularly reliable and will wear down your drivetrain faster. Do you have a local Scott dealer who repairs their ebikes? Are you prepared to pay for a replacement battery pack once this battery is end of life? Always worth asking how much a replacement battery pack is and this will likely increase by the time you need it as it will be a less commonly sold part then in a few years.

If I was touring with an ebike it definitely wouldn't be a mid-drive motor, surely a hub motor would be a far superior option and maybe even a direct drive hub motor as they can do phenomenal number of miles without issue and you have the regen option which not only helps extend range but also massively reduces brake pad wear to nothing almost.

Sounds a bit scammy. Like Amazon and others putting prices up before a sale so they can pretend the discount is bigger than it is
