    Only brand and drive to fail on me multiple times. I feel safer to stick with WD based on my personal experience.

    I've also had WD fail on me multiple times over the years. But I backup regularly so this is never a major issue.

    Why do you always see recertified WD drives on here but can not remember ever seeing a recertified Seagate.

    probably because when the seagates go bad.. it would cost to much to FIX whats gone wrong with them..
    not a fan of WD either..
    bought 1.. lasted 3months before having to be replaced, followed by the replacement needing to be replaced directly by WD instead of the company i bought it from.. which ironically has lasted 8years.
    so the company ebuyer must have done something to them..
    currently have 4 x samsungs and 2 toshiba's and 1 WD. with the samsungs being the oldest.

    edit.. not a fan of samsungs since seagate bought them out.. this was after i bought mine. (edited)
