Are these as good as the other flagships? Don't really see much of Sony now.

I’ve been very tempted for a while. It’s a different beast. Next to no computational photography so won’t appeal to many but has lots of Sony pro features. It’s also arguably the most complete phone since the Note 9 as has all the features other brands have taken away. The main thing that has stopped me is the overheating issues when recording video largely down to the chipset. Maybe next years model will finally make me switch. A really nice thing from ones I’ve tried is the aspect ratio is amazing for movies and I also actually like long thin phones (I’ve grown to like it on Z Flip 3) vs the 13 Pro Max heavy wide beast I had for a while. In my opinion and as an owner though just get yourself a Pixel 7 Pro. Hate the curved screen but it’s amazing in every other way especially in weight balancing for size of the phone with great camera. Mind at this price the Sony is very tempting! (edited)

Love the way they inflate the Ebay price by £50 vs going direct so you can 'save' £50 by using the voucher!

I bought two on the other thread and these are crap - the zoom camera is rubbish and my 3 year old Huawai P30 Pro blows it away as does the Pixel Pro 7. And they overheat - and its freezing right now.

I would avoid - they have been selling these refurbs for nearly two weeks which means they got a tonne of returns to have so many

I'd feel ripped off at £250.

    £500 is a joke.

Makes you wonder how much huawei would be killing the market right now had they not fallen foul of trump. Probably going back to p30 from my xiaomi 12x as preferred the software and there is improvement from a hardware standpoint

I was able to purchase via GiffGaff without the goodybag. Shame the "good" is not in stock as those weirdly were better condition than the "Very Good" based on my experience and that of others in Mr Switches thread

    Heat added as good price

Have the overheating issues been fixed and has that assisted with the battery life at all?

Wow, I'm tempted to switch to this from my 2 weeks old entry level Sony 10 IV.

That said, I probably don't need the extra features, and the battery life on the Sony 10 IV is excellent. On light use and with stamina mode switched on I need to charge it just once a week! The lower resolution and slow processor probably help a lot... (edited)

I am not trying to convince anyone but those saying this is a rubbish phone with crap zoom are not wanting to pay 500 for a phone. You can find many examples of photos online this phone takes the best pictures of any phone on the market by far. It has the latest processor with 12gb of ram. The specs are matched only by a very few phones. The heating issue was also fixed with the update I have one myself. At 500 it's a steal you cannot buy a better phone for 500 anywhere. Either the camera is poor or battery life is poor or processor is poor. For me it's a great phone

The wide angle lens is good, the zoom at the long end is rubbish.

'At 500 it's a steal you cannot buy a better phone for 500 anywhere'

Then you are just not looking hard enough.

Most professional reviews have not been kind.

They have had so many returns, this 'deal' has been running for nearly 3 weeks.

    Figure it out
