Product description
The early life and career of Vito Corleone in 1920s New York City is portrayed, while his son, Michael, expands and tightens his grip on the family crime syndicate.

Continuing saga of the Corleone family as they move to Nevada and make the casino business their major income source under the leadership of the increasingly paranoid and malevolent Michael, whose reign as the "Don" is juxtaposed against the parallel tale of his father's escape from Sicily as a young boy and his subsequent rise to power in New York's Lower East Side during the turn-of-the-century.

For me this is the better of the first two movies as Michael comes into his own. The steely intensity in his eyes in the last 25mins of the film, where ever person that tried to eff him either gets killed or goes to jail, is magnificent. As is the 'I know it was you Fredo - you broke my heart. You broke my heart' scene. John Cazele is terrified of a guy a head shorter than him coz that's what Michael truly is. The boss. The boss of situations. The reality around him. The force of personality of one man, bends the world, situations - and reality around him. I have never seen anything like the force of personality Michael has in this movie. Most people are forced to bend to the world, the world is far stronger than any single person. But not Michael. He makes the world BEND TO HIM. It is a powerful image. He doesn't fire a single bullet or stab anybody. He doesn't have to - he daboss. Everybody else gets their comeuppance. He just watches it with a wry smile on the morning news the next day - processes he planned and anticipated and plotted for months beforehand - come to ultimate fruition. A man in absolute control of his destiny. Some people would call his eyes 'the face of true evil' but this is to misundestand what really happens - it is about power, and control. And nobody does power and control like Micchele di Corleone.

My favourite movie of all time (Plus GF1). The steelbooks look really nice.

I have the 9 disc 50th Limited collectors edition otherwise I would have double dipped.
