Product descriptionPlease note this is a region B Blu-ray and will require a region B or region free Blu-ray player in order to play.
Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 (Europe) or region Free DVD Player in order to play.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy finds George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the service, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage. Tasked with investigating which of his trusted former colleagues has chosen to betray him and their country, Smiley narrows his search to four suspects - all experienced, skilled and successful agents - but past histories, rivalries and friendships make it far from easy to pinpoint the man who is eating away at the heart of the British establishment. An acting masterclass from the crme de la crme of British film (Colin Firth, The King's Speech; Tom Hardy, Inception; Mark Strong, Kick Ass; Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock Holmes) and inspired direction from Let The Right One In's Tomas Alfredson make this gripping and tense adaptation of John le Carr's classic spy novel essential viewing.

sorted bySir Alec Guinness at his very best and far better than this limbless effort.
The original hasn't aged at all. It's set in the 70s and filmed in the same era: you honestly think you can recreate an era more faithfully than actuality? Bizarre idea.
The remake is a complete disaster. Woeful. Even if the original BBC version hadn't been made this would have been an awful attempt at bringing a classic British espionage book to the screen. (edited)
At least Gary Oldman knew the original was peerless and acted accordingly. Instead of him being Gary Oldman doing Le Carre's George Smiley, he rather wisely does little more than being Gary Oldman impersonating Alec Guinness doing Le Carre's Smiley.
That's the benefit of being older.
You really think Greta knows better than us, just because she's passionate...?
What I remember it was and sold the blu-ray. Maybe it's one of them ones you need to watch twice!
Why remake something thay cant be surpassed?
Let's remake the Godfather with Liam Neeson playing the title role...
The original hasn't aged well and this is a very good version with great cinematography and casting.
Agreed. Original = much better.
It is. Watch the original.
Yep, classic series, played with understated brilliance. One of the Beeb's very best productions. (edited)
Didn’t even know there was an original until this.
I actually think original Smiley's people is better than original of this
