I was hoping for toob. It’s all around my area apart from my road because people don’t want the poles put up. Gutted

Been with Virgin 20 years. End of each contract it's the same story, price goes up, I cancel, then 2 days later retentions ring up and smash it out the park.

    Last week I got
    Mega TV bundle
    Sky cinema and sports HD
    TNT sports
    2 tivo boxes
    1gb broadband
    Unlimited home phone
    Netflix standard

    £71 a month for 18 months (edited)

You can leave it without paying exit fees till end of the month, like everyone.

Just ended a free trial with Virgin, the Internet has been fine when I was using it but it has been so difficult to cancel.

Five calls so far and I'm still not sure it's cancelled

They have their call centre in the Philippines and they will call you up to 9pm 3am their time. Very difficult to get through to them as well.
    Harakui's avatar
    Cancel it on whatsapp +44 7415 737219 or 07305 327112
No need to call, write with Your own time.
Plus You got proof with messages it is cancelled if they still charge You.

Left virgin after 10 years. Not even an offer to retain me. Left for community fibre 12 months FREE broadband then £25 after. £20 cheaper than what Virgin offered me. (Fair enough I got some other things with my package but I never used them).

They went downhill after the pandemic.

Virgin poor Internet try brillband thank me later

Use a mesh system with it will be fine. Only thing in the package which is really bad is o2 absolute rubbish. I've got this package runs out in February I think, don't know whether I'd be able to get the likes of this on the wife's email and whether I'd have to use a different payment card.

I’m currently paying £48 per month for a Volt M250 and anytime chatter package from Virgin, is there any way for me to cancel earlier without fees and negotiate for a better one or just cancel and get a family member to get a new customer offer with Virgin. I still have a 12 months remaining minimum period.
    manicmidlander's avatar
Someone earlier in the thread suggested that Virgin were changing some pricing terms which would mean you could now cancel early with no fees due to the change in terms
  8. help-me2's avatar
I left virgin media recently to switch to community fibre what I highly recommend if it available in your area there a lot cheaper and have as far as I can tell similar download and upload speed the only issue I've had is that it taken an over a month to move my landline number to them for virgin
  9. dealtt_18's avatar
Absolute crooks - we cancelled 2 weeks ago but their "field agent" renewed our package for another 18 months without our consent

Called them back and they have no record of us submitting our cancellation in the first place -despite us having the confirmation email from them
    jasper132's avatar
If you have the proof then complain, then follow up with ofcom if nothing happens

Crap company I have 1GB Internet most times I’m getting well below 350meg cant wait to leave them and move to someone else
    A57ton's avatar
    I recently got YouFibre.

Because I am locked in a contract for another 12 months with PlusNet, YouFibre are only billing me £1 a month for the first 12 months, then the regular price of £29.99 for the next 12 months.

1Gb up and down, 24m contract.

  13. igloolad's avatar
then there's the price hikes every year cpi + 3.9% at moment will be about 10% plus when promotion ends, be prepared to haggle withe their retentions department, reason i am going in january to a different fibre company for a lot less plus double the speed
    aLV426's avatar
To be fair that cpi + 3.9% applies to all providers in the UK though...

terrible customer service but the only fiber optic in my area
  15. herby247's avatar
Any existing customers been able to change/upgrade to this offer?
  16. Ramiren's avatar
You (formerly known as YouFiber) are cheaper in my area £28 p/m for 1Gb full fibre and don't run on a massively congested network, if you're just after internet and they're in your area they're worth a look.
  17. kjam81's avatar
I wouldn't go with Virgin it was free. 7 months I've had a complaint ongoing with them which is now with FOS

    Yes, did that with mine
  20. BrianButterfield's avatar
    £51 a month for 125MB for me :/
    TeamMCS's avatar
Keep an eye on the MoneySavingExpert news letters. They've agreed a few affiliate deals for 250meg (350 if you have an o2 sim card) for £23~/mo with something like 6 months upfront credit. It's popped up a few times.

How can you get this deal if you don't have the perks thing
    BorisK's avatar
Some unions offer it to their members.
  22. adam.yacub's avatar
Does anyone how much it would be to add 4k sky sports and TNT?
    misterjoint's avatar
You can add the Virgin stream box then TNT sport add on for £10 a month, that's what I did. No other monthly costs but a small activation fee I recall.
  23. Joshfount's avatar
Good price for such a complete bundle ♨️
  24. Arif_Hilmi's avatar
I am currently with Virgin, would it be possible to register under my wife’s name to take advantage of the new customer offer? Anyone tried this?
    smokieUK's avatar
I was close to completing doing this a couple of years back but they called me at the last minute and almost matched the new customer rate. I'd been completely open with them about what I was doing. The major downside was going through the hassle of de-instaloling the old kit, installing the new and consequent loss of recordings on TiVos.

They seem to have at least 3 retentions departments which don't even have access to what the other has offered.

Seemed harder to negotiate once that had ended this summer but still got what I want a a price I want. (edited)

I still need to get around to complaining about my 6 month outage & the fact that I was charged twice for both a VM SIM & an O2 SIM!
Should I quit my current deal and go for this?
51198673-nscNR.jpgI also pay for the O2 SIM which is part of this bundle, but not part of this monthly bill...
Also worth noting that this months bill is £31.00 - actually I need to ask them why as I was guaranteed £22 until February 2024?
    This is my October bill:

I want symmetric speeds, none of this 350 down, 35 up nonsense! Sadly I don't have a lot of choice living in the outskirts of Belfast...
If 4/5G was good for competitive online gaming I would switch to that, but sadly there is just too much lag...
    JohnBlair's avatar
Out of curiosity, what you doing that you need upload speeds of 350 Mbps?

Don't think I've seen anywhere in Belfast offer symmetrical speeds

Would the data not double from 10GB to 20GB on the 02 sim as part of Volt benefits?

Cancelling Virgin Media at the end of the contract was a nightmare. Would never ever choose them again.
  31. sandiford101's avatar
Dont bother. Since virgin have joined with o2 it is rubbish. spends more time buffering than working
  32. nutellaaa's avatar
Just started a new Virgin Broadband contract 3 days ago. What's the best way of getting on this plan? Am I better off cancelling under the 14 day cooling period then starting this, or should I call and ask to be transferred to this?
    meraip's avatar
ALWAYS NOTE: name of person you spoke to and call centre with date and time you spoke to them as calls will be recorded and ask them to make a note on your account of the call and summary of package agreed at the end of call.

    1. Call the person you spoke if you have the details
    2. otherwise go to cancellations under 14 days cooling off period. Ask them for the best offer for this. If you do not get joy then tell them about this deal they should be able to oblige.
    3. otherwise cancel outright and follow the link above as a new customer with same deal. They will oblige or call to give you this later for get this.

You are still a new customer. Same for anyone in the last 30 days of contract can haggle this to start a day after current contract end day. (edited)
  33. andy_mathiesonWna's avatar
On 300 GB virgin can't get better deal though as VM know our BT line is rubbish , guaranteed minimum 0.6 GB !!!

What's the cheapest way to get the internet upgrade with an O2 SIM?
Currently nobody in the house has O2
  38. MarzBarz's avatar

  39. bhoy78's avatar
