What makes this better than one of the much cheaper and similar looking kettle BBQs, please.

Currently looking for a BBQ grill. (edited)

Are you looking to just BBQ a few sausages and burgers on it as a cheap and cheerful one will do you just as well for a couple of years at least.

If looking to do lo&slo as well ribs, pork shoulder etc, with the deeper bowl, lid thermometer, quality of materials and build and controlable air vents then this would be a better choice I feel.

But as with everything it is down to budget and what you want to cook on it.

Morrisons are selling off their very decent looking BBQ without cover for £59 and if I wasn't to look to buy a Weber, I would have a look at that one hotukdeals.com/dea…762

Own the 47cm version of this with cover, first 4 years ok, as kept inside shed, last year left outside with cover, now is absolutely rusted. It has put me off weber.

Mine did nor come with the coal rails or the measuring cup mentioned in the photos and description. Checking with seller. (edited)

Same here. Thanks for the heads up as I wouldn't have checked straight away. I'll be interested to know what they say. I've contacted too

Even with the cover will this not just get ruined if left outside in the rubbish winter weather ? My basic Argos one is ruined and rusted after a year of being left outside in a cover which basically keeps blowing away

Yes, Weber moved all their production to China and use cheap Chinese steel to make their grills.

Reviews don't tell the full story as they are written by people who are happy with their new shiny grill.

It's the usual story with Chinese manufacturing though....you might get lucky....they probably make decent stuff every so often when someone from Weber HQ is checking them out.

Otherwise, it's a so-called premium brand that has sold out to Chinese manufacturing and kept the price the same. The guarantee is worthless too.

Owned this BBQ since 2019 and used on the regular. No complaints and I used a cheap amazon cover for mine which does the job well. Grill is perfect when BBQ-ing for 6 people at a time and temperature control on the lid is good if looking to slow cook anything. Loads of guides on the weber website too e.g.:

If anyone’s wondering, the Original Kettle and Classic Kettle only seem to differ in how deep the ash catcher underneath is.
