I was wondering, where can you get discounts generally by just presenting your ID card? I am aware that you can get up to 20% off at Nandos just by showing your ID and a few gyms.

If you are employed by the NHS you can use your NHS ID card to get discounts on a big range of shops, products and services. We’ll take a look at some of the NHS discounts available to you.

RESTAURANTS
Nandos
Nandos offer a cheeky 20% discount on your bill to all NHS staff (also Police, Fire Services and Ambulance service). Just show your NHS ID card before placing your order. (credit @lalit123 )
Dominos Pizza offer up to 50% discount on their products when you produce your NHS ID badge. Offers vary across different branches so be sure to mention this offer when you place your order.
You can get 10% off your meal at Subway with your NHS ID badge. Like Domino’s, offers can vary across branches so be sure to check you can get your discount before you order.
Use your NHS ID card in one of their many restaurants around the country and get 20% off your food bill.

Hilton
If you’re looking to book a holiday or short break then bear in mind that Hilton Hotels offers up to 30% off room prices for NHS (or government) employees.
SHOPS
Apple currently offer NHS staff a 6% discount on desktops and laptops and 2% discount on iPhones and iPads through their Employee Purchase Program. You can also show your NHS ID card in their stores to get a discount.
Being an NHS worker enables you to apply for an individual Costco membership . You’ll need to take along your payslip (containing your employee number) and proof of your address.
Pop into a branch of Dorothy Perkins with an wage slip or your NHS ID card and save 10% on any full priced items in store.

Europcar
If you are looking to book a hire car then Europcar offer NHS employees up to 20% off. You will need to show your valid NHS ID when you pick up your vehicle.
ENTERTAINMENT
If you’re a lover of roller coasters and rides then Alton Towers are offering up to 40% discount for NHS staff. To take advantage of this offer then you’ll need to:

Longleat Safari Park hold 'blue light' days which offer 30% discount on their standard prices for NHS staff (and other emergency services personnel).

Vodafone offer a discount scheme called Employee Advantage that all NHS staff members qualify for. It entitles you to up to 15% off their pay monthly packages and plans. You can apply online:

There are MANY other discounts available too!Finally, a good idea is to keep your NHS ID card handy because it’s always worth asking if a shop or service has an NHS discount, the worst that can happen is that they say no!
