What discounts can you get by showing your NHS ID?

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I work for the NHS.

I was wondering, where can you get discounts generally by just presenting your ID card? I am aware that you can get up to 20% off at Nandos just by showing your ID and a few gyms.

Look forward to hearing from all

Every company should offer a discount to NHS workers, an underpaid, overworked and thankless job that we all rely on in times of crisis.

You say that but forget the care assistants, who work with a huge range and scale of people, and it's often at minimum wage. Most NHS staff (doctors, nurses etc) have a pay rise every six months (up to a certain point/banding). care assistants only get a pay rise when the minimum wage goes up. But I say that I as I eat my Domino's which I paid 50% less for..

BadMF where did u get the idea NHS staff get a pay rise every six months. We get a pay rise once a year supposedly equal with inflation. And we move up our band at the same time

Many NHS trusts have schemes you can sign up for as well. You can get some great discounts via those. eg. Cineworld 2 adult tickets, or 1 adult ticket plus popcorn and drink for £6.

Don't rely on Cineworld honouring it. Tried at the weekend and was told that to us NHS discount you have to register with Cineworld website and they then send out vouchers.

Not very helpful if you decide to visit on spur of the moment!!

At a guess, go onto your intranet and search for employee discounts.

That said, most of ours are s*** - "Save 1% on the first month at David Lloyd if you wear a white tshirt instead of a swimming costume" type things.

That said David Lloyd is awesome, when I got out of the pool all the trainers paid me loads of attention. Must be an NHS "perk" as I certainly felt pretty perky after that swim.

I doubt you will be eligible, as you’re a volunteer rather than an employee
