    I'm inclined to go for Crucial MX500 for a couple of quid more due to 5 year warranty, let alone any spec differences like 20GB extra.

    I would, the mx500 is slightly faster and almost the same price.

    Was tempted to take a punt on this (colour scheme fits my PC aesthetic).

    Its not 'a little bit faster', the MX 500 is considerable faster when multitasking etc.
    The mx is newer technology.

    Feel free to alter it for the 480/ 500 models but the sandisk is a dinosaur and etailers likely just want their money back. Another tenner off, sure.It would be fine for an older desktop or lappy but its not something I would buy today as a boot drive. (edited)

    There's anecdotes for all products' quality both good and bad. I've had two good experiences (touch wood...) but ymmv. Just don't store your important data in only 1 place and follow the best price/performance offer in your budget.

    Style and substance in a PC. Gotta have that red and black theme for an AMD build (GPU is another story!).
