  • The Kraken is the first imported black rum from the Caribbean blended with over 11 secret spices and weighs in at an impressive 40 proof.
  • Named for a sea beast of myth and legend, The Kraken is strong, rich, black and smooth.
  • While the smooth taste of The Kraken lends itself to be enjoyed as a sipping rum, it can also be enjoyed as a key ingredient in traditional cocktails and long serves like Kraken and cola
  • The Kraken's proprietary bottle is a replica of a Victorian Rum bottle and features two handles - allowing for easy portability (as well as potability).

Good deal! Better value than 70cl for £19/20 but knowing this regularly gets down to £22/23 means I won't bite yet. (edited)

Very nice spiced rum. Not a special tipple but a very enjoyable pour. Add ginger beer (not ginger ale), a splash of apple juice and a quarter squeezed lime, all over ice.

40 proof is only 20% ABV. I'm not sure why that is impressive? (edited)

...in America. 40 of your English proofs is a whopping 23% (ish).

No, in America 40 proof is 20% ABV. The original conversion (here in the UK) was 7/4 the ABV. In America they use the modern definition of twice the ABV

It's not 40 proof, that's a mistake on their description.
