I find that if you order from a big chain like KFC, McDonalds etc they will refund straight away but when you order from a small independent takeaway they need to investigate for 48 hours. If you keep complaining then will refund you. (edited)

I guess; reading between the lines; they ordered food - paid by Paypal - and some things were missing from the order?

    No chips or drink.

OP ordered food but it was missing it’s wrap and refund must come from interests. They are debating contacting PayPal for loss of wrapping - this is after interests denied their refund initially.

Cheaper to order direct from my local Indian takeaway than use just eat. Free delivery and lower minimum order. (edited)

They’ve done this with me I’ve had to raise a chargeback. ordered 3 items a coffee from Costa and toasties and a cake they only brought one bag and it had the drink inside. I stopped the driver before he left he said sorry only got one bag you need to contact Uber eats and they wouldn’t refund. I said well I haven’t received the goods so will be contacting my bank for goods not received.

Has happened to me, they are a pain the ass to deal with, shocking customer service. Hit them up on FB.

Uber eats have terrible customer service. At most they may offer you £3 credit but that’s it. Chargeback the money.

If they refuse to refund, Paypal dispute every time.

Ive also have problems with Uber , especially when they display an error message telling you ‘your order wasn’t complete’ and then you go an order again to find 2 delivery drivers at your door .

Saving the voucher for another order and getting 150% off would have been better though

No...that's 75% off (assuming both orders were same value) but thanks for playing.

My Sister in-law didn’t receive all her order from Macdonalds, half was missing and they wouldn't refund her! Couldn’t believe it, you think these days if you pay for something and dont get all you pay for that it would be a given for them to refund you. Someone did say she could open up a claim with her bank of some kind. I have just told her if she did order from them again to do so through Paypal.

Note, if you get a refund through PayPal, Uber will block your account stating that you owe them money. I ordered a meal in January as I had a 50% discount code that I applied, bringing the cost down to £17.97 from £32.97. When I got my Paypal receipt I saw immediately that it had gone through at £32.97. I looked in the APP and could find no way to contact Uber so I filed a case the next day with PayPal. Paypal investigated and having seen my screenshots, refunded £15. I then found out that Uber have blocked my account stating that I owe them £32.97. and that there is a chargeback on my Paypal account. I checked with Paypal, there is no outstanding chargeback. I showed the evidence to Uber support - screenshots of my PayPal account showing the £32.97 payment and then the £15 refund but they refuse to act sensibly and continue to state I owe them £32.97. I cannot even close my account now as they say I have an outstanding balance. The Paypal customer support person told me that Uber usually act in this way and that he has seen it happen lots of times. What a bunch of crooks. (edited)

I've had a similar problem with UberEats

They sent me someone else's order entirely, so it was 100% wrong. Customer service, on the in-app email chat were 'very unhelpful', so armed with screenshot of order, and takeaway packing slip, I filed a PayPal case of "not as described" which got very quickly awarded and refunded.

When I placed my next order, a few weeks later, they hit me with a random charge on PayPal, then charged me the correct amount on my credit card, for the order I placed.

After 4 days of wrangling with UberEats, they disclosed that the charge, was an account arrears, to service the PayPal claim.

I am currently awaiting my Small Claims Court hearing date (gov. Money Claims Online service) on this one.... It's an 'NC' court code reference, meaning it will be heard in Maidstone
