Wizz Air and most eastern european carriers are extremely strict with cabin bags policy - absolutely no leeway whatsoever. You are often put in a position of paying up an extortionate amount or throwing goods away even if your bulk is a fraction over.

The budget turkish airlines are fab, but eastern european airlines such as Wizzair - no thanks

...and some expats have been arrested for kissing on the beach (in public places)!
When in Rome. Do NOT suggest appropriate venue for typical Brit Hen & Stag dos... rather go to Newcastle for those and keep the other hotel guests (like me) awake the whole night with screaming tarts and shooting cats in the corridoors

Yeah, morals and slavery issues aside, this is one of the most expensive places you can visit as a tourist. Obviously the cheap flight is to lure tourists in, but once you land it's impossible not to be over-spending on food, transport (mostly by taxi) and everything else.

Luton, Wizz and a connection, on short haul aircraft.
No thanks, not even for £78.

This is the complete barebones fare with only a small personal bag. Check out the cost of brining in any luggage (even a 10kg cabin bag):

45735958-bJSf1.jpgAlso, as had been shown in other deals, this is a self transfer for connection.. If your first flight is changed, you could miss your connection.

Be aware of which country(s) you are transferring through in both directions, and check the covid travel rules for each.
Some of the flight combinations thrown up by Skyscanner go out via Hungary and back via Romania.

Wizz Air is worse airline in the industry.

Never set foot in Luton, but true... from a distance it looks to be no more that hundreds of warehouses set up to be London's distribution centre. People are knocking Luton Airport however... bet they have never been there themselves. I have, on several occasions, and have always found it's small size and simple layout to be super convenient and easy to move through... like a hot knife through butter

    Exactly!
By all means, use Skyscanner and other search engines to find the cheap flights, but then always go direct to the airline to book.
You won't get a cheaper price than booking with the airline direct, and much less hassle dealing with the airline to rearrange flights or get refunds if they cancel.

It is cheap...but not worth it with this airline.

They’re truly horrendous. You should see how little they pay their staff and pilots…. Wouldn’t dare fly them.

Also May I suggest that if you are willing to sacrifice a day of your life to save a few quid - then Dubai is NOT the place for you. What you save is nothing compared to what you will spend. You are better off taking a flight to Spain or Greece.
  29. sarkiemarkie's avatar
You'd have to pay me to go somewhere where it's illegal to be myself.. no thanks

You can do Emirates direct for about £410 or so. Directly with airline, bags included, no long stop-over, better in-flight experience. Depends on budget and if you don't mind long flights and using an OTA though.
Bear in mind Dubai is an expensive place to stay too, particularly if eating out, drinking etc. (edited)

To avoid ridiculous checked/ hold baggage charge on Wizz, simply wear 6 layers of clothing (you will need them for that 11 hour November layover in Budapest anyway! I also have one of those nerdy photographer/ hunter gillets with the 101 pockets to stash loads of stuff on your person... very useful & paid for itself many times over on long weekend trips prior to pandemic.
Don't get me started on my flexible cabin bag solution choice...
  34. beatchuk's avatar
Not for me. But heat given as if you don’t mind the layover it’s a great price.

Showing too much affection, especially out of marriage, will get you in trouble. Women are expected to dress modestly, some places you need a licence to drink alcohol.

    It's probably best avoided, TBH.
