Just to let you know...if you buy New Zealand lamb it is halal. All export lamb from there is halal. The lamb from Britain isn't (unless labelled). Just in case you have religious or ethical issues around that. Likewise frozen cheap chicken from places like Thailand (stuff you'll find in most ready meals) is the same. Its just because the main export markets for those countries are not places like the UK but Arab and Islamic countries.

I just returned from Tesco Extra in Reading.
There was a mixture of UK and NZ lamb on the offer shelf.
The UK lamb had bbe 13/12/21, and the NZ lamb had bbe 17/12/21.
Also, only the newer packs of NZ lamb had stickers indicating it was on the offer, although the UK lamb still scanned through at half price on the till. I got 2 nice UK joints and they've gone straight into the freezer.
It seems the newer stock for this offer will be mostly NZ lamb.

Anyone know how to find out if the British & NZ lambs are "grass fed"?

From what I can see, the legs are British Lamb, and from their website, it says:
    • From Trusted Farms From selected and trusted farmers, our lamb is fed on a grass based diet and cared for with high welfare standards to ensure great quality and flavoursome lamb"

Spotted a local butcher buying two trolley loads of lamb joints when they were on offer last year! Obviously cheaper than he could buy them wholesale!

    New Zeland's frozen lamb?

Fresh, and according to the website: "Produced in the U.K., Origin the U.K."

A lot more expensive than they usually are at this time of year.

Sign of the times I guess.

I get a couple of these every Christmas and Easter (prices always drop to these levels around both holidays), one for the big day and one for the freezer for another day. Wish I had room for an extra freezer, I love lamb...

put the frozen lamb in the fridge for 24 hours and it will be ready for the oven. Do it every year and it's always tasted fresh and perfect.

Clubcard Price is such a rip-off. I really can't stand it and I refuse to shop in Tesco because of it.

To think some poor mugs end up paying double because they forgot to bring their clubcard, or they don't have a smartphone, or they just don't want to be part of Tesco's mass data-gathering scheme.

P.S. lamb has been £6.50/kg in ASDA since at least a week ago - no dodgy clubcards needed!

It's a clubcard deal, so I guess it only comes off at the checkout once it processes your clubcard.
The same way other clubcard deals show at full price until just before you pay.

My wife bought one last Easter when we were in the first lockdown online for delivery. She asked for 2kg planning on spending £12 at the time… they sent 6kg+ leg and charged us £38. This was first lockdown so driver dropped and left before we could even check, cue call to Tesco and they said oh well just return it to the store, erm well no county is in lockdown returning a leg of lamb is not essential travel. Ok then have it for free! Best lamb I ever tasted!
