sorted byJunk sadly. I'd pay £20 max.
Gimped? I know you have to add it to your home screen but then it works like any other app for me!
Not so much the iOS version
Yeah that one does look good … I’m just waiting for the steam deck
Have you tried them both? I have the Kishi and it seems decent, but got it cheap and didn’t fancy spending £100 on the backbone.
It’s nowhere near as nice an experience. I’ve used both.
Because thats not a good controller (edited)
I had more issues running the app on my pixel 5 than I ever had using the web app on iOS on my iPhone or iPad.
This depends what’s being played. For instance if your planning on using xcloud. Input delay mixed with general lag can be infuriating, remove the milliseconds of input lag and you’ll have a smoother experience.
Xbox also does not use Bluetooth to connect controllers to the console. Instead it uses Microsoft’s own wireless protocol which is much lower latency than Bluetooth.
As for PlayStation I do not know.
Personally I wanted to get Backbone One. But I never found that on sale.
Good deal but I’d guess it is because x cloud is gimped on iPhone vs android as you can’t use the Xbox app. I love using it on my z fold 2 but not on my iPad Pro for exactly that reason. Not fair on the deal itself but that’s the way it is on here!
the razer Kisha is toss
Ok, fair enough!
What's best controller for android?
Fair enough. The experience on Z Fold 2 with 5G was spotless. I do wonder if the 5 limited by the CPU even though it’s a cloud based app it might be resource intensive. (edited)
Accept this is hard wired in and doesn’t have to connect via Bluetooth and have an input delay.
Kishi is a better solution that the clip. But I did feel that it was flimsy. Best option will always be to wire the controller in.
Never tried the Razer one. Went for the Backbone one and never needed to try any others
Problem is too many different android phones shapes and sizes so it’s not viable for backbone one to make one. I couldn’t help you with android devices (edited)
Doubt the miniscule lag is detectable, especially seeing how it connects to the Xbox the same way, and so does PlayStation controller to the PS and no one has ever complained about that ?
Which phone you got and do you have a case on it?
Which Xbox controller? (edited)
Hauwai P20, no case, I hear it can fit the Samsung ultras without a case, but it's a tight squeeze
Any input delay (which if there is any, it’s imperceptible) will be the same as what would be experienced on an Xbox, so hardly worth a comment.
I agree with the original poster of the Xbox clip comment. I have a clip that was less than £10 on eBay so I can use an Xbox controller on my phone. Works brilliantly and I’d say better longevity and durability than any third party controller.
A normal wireless Xbox controller. (edited)
But Xbox doesn’t connect to the pad via Bluetooth. It’s a different low latency connection method. The pads just feature Bluetooth capabilities.
Bluetooth does have input latency, that’s just the nature of that input method.
Please DYOR.
Ditto. I've experimented with loads of controllers, cheap, expensive, wired, wireless. Sold them all, I keep coming back to my xbox controller. Except for the iPega as it fits tablets. Xbox control is flawless for xbox cloud, remote play and perfect for all of my emulators. Xbox controller with a clip connected over Bluetooth all the way for me, can't beat it (in my opinion of course).
I'm using a Samsung Note 10+ if that matters or helps anyone.
What kind of clip do you have to get. Is it the same for all the Xbox controllers? (edited)
Correct, xbox doesn't use Bluetooth for connection.
Bluetooth to android has been perfect for me however, each to their own I guess
I use this:
amazon.co.uk/gp/…tle
Quite expensive just for a clip. How much you pay for that?
It was about £12 I believe, it's reliable too, I use it every day, mostly for emulators and its held up. Depends on your definition of expensive I guess, for me I was looking for the gold standard android controller only to realise I already had it! £12 to utilise what I believe to be the best controller I've used for my gaming is a steal. That's my perspective (edited)
I agree, I bought one full price and have used it a lot but its very uncomfortable. In saying that though I did finish halo 5 with it and finished Katana Zero in one sitting with it too on xcloud
I use Bluetooth to connect to my gaming PC and my Samsung s20 - never had an issue with any lag.
I think the Xbox may us RF to controller, Playstation 5 uses Bluetooth.
Mine was £5 on eBay. (edited)
I have to say, I think the controller is fantastic! Wasn't sure but got one at Christmas now happy to play mobile games!!
