sorted byRead the reviews of this similar item from Philips. Some say a couple months and others a year. Depends how dusty you environment is.

Other companies make compatible filters like this.
For me it's about the price and availability of the filters. I do like the fact that 3rd party manufactures are making filters for this device. If you want reviews just look up for the 800 series.
Bear in mind that if you want something to reduce odour too, you’ll need a unit with a charcoal filter (e.g. Philips 2000i).

If you want to catch just dust then look for a cheaper one.
But yes it will do dust .Filters viruses, allergens and pollutantsl.
