About this deal

Large capacity dehumidifiers to meet all your dehumidification needs with a larger than average 8 litre connection tank. The 40 Litre model is here. They would be good for drying out damp large spaces in the home, loft or garage. These are probably a compressor type dehumidifier given the capacity.

I spotted they had 3 in the discount section last week at £90 each.

I think a little too big for in our utility room for drying washing but was very tempted.

Not sure if they are still there now but I guess they won’t be for long after I post this.

Seems quite power hungry compared to others. I would personally just pay a little more for a more energy efficient one.

I purchased the 40l model and as said it's far more efficient if you only run for a couple of hours a day, washing drys in no time and the added advantage is once it's up to temp it's blowing warm air into the room.
I read lots of reviews on the smaller ones and then on YouTube there is videos of comparing small energy efficient ones and big ones like this in the USA and the outcome is the larger ones are far better in running costs and efficiency. The video had models not found in the UK, but this was as close in specifications to the one they recommended.
Had no issues with it at all, the noise is on the louder side but not enough to stop work calls in the same room etc

I have a 20l dehumidifier with a 6l tank… that is hard enough to empty, 8l would be even more difficult! Not so much the weight itself, but how you are able to lift / grip it, surprisingly awkward! I look forward to the “gym” comments from all the hukd weight lifters

Anyone who's bought a dehumidifier from the pro-elec brand care to weigh in?
Any first-hand experience with this model (pell310) in particular?

Bonus points if you're able to compare against meaco or equivalent commonly available brands in this price range.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger so would appreciate any guidance to inform my purchasing decision either way.
    Cheers.

There isn't much info on this brand. It is recommended to read some web reviews and watch a couple of YouTube videos before buying a device you have to live with.

Dehumidifier's tend to be noiser than people expect.

I own a Meaco and it isn't loud. It has a relatively loud fan, but it constantly switches on and off.
The machine in this thread is considerably beefier than the Meaco I own and I assume it can extract more water, faster.
It'll be louder and consume more power than my Meaco.

One additional point is that dehumidifiers are in very high demand.
I listened to an interview given by Meaco's CEO and he said that his company cannot supply retailers with enough units. They increased their manufacturing capacity by 10k per year and even that isn't enough.
So, for whatever reason, dehumidifiers are increasing in demand. (edited)
