Tuned for the most natural picture quality, the Panasonic TX-58JX800B always delivers.
HCX Processor – Hollywood-tuned picture processor
Tuned by an industry expert in Hollywood, this 58 inch Panasonic TV delivers a picture that’s faithful to the colour and detail originally intended. The powerful HCX processor features 3D LUT, HDR and 4K remaster tech to accurately reproduce the picture – just as the filmmaker intended.
HDR Bright Panel Plus for super-sharp images
Once the signal has been analysed by the HCX Processor, it’s sent to a screen that does it justice – HDR Bright Panel Plus. Using extra-bright LED backlights, this screen goes brighter and therefore enhances contrast, giving superb levels of contrast – even in conditions of high ambient light.
Local Dimming – improved contrast
Working in conjunction with the HDR Bright Panel Plus, Local Dimming gives more control over the picture contrast. By being able to dim particular areas of the image, contrast is enhanced, making images look even more natural and lifelike. The processing is so fast and seamless, you’ll notice nothing except an incredible sense of image realism.
HDR10+ Adaptive – ultimate detail in all lighting conditions
HDR10+ Adaptive takes HDR10 and to the next level, making it the ultimate HDR-type picture processor. HDR10+ Adaptive uses light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is.
Multi-format HDR support for a stunning picture from all sources
As well as HDR10+ Adaptive, the TX-58JX800B also offers multi-format HDR support, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and HLG Photo. HDR10+ offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology. Each scene is optimised, meaning the maximum amount of detail is shown – even in the brightest or darkest moments.
See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
Featuring exclusive technology from Panasonic, Filmmaker Mode makes the best of any movie. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended. Panasonic exclusively add Intelligent Sensing to Filmmaker mode, so that the picture reacts intelligently to changes in light, automatically giving you the most cinematic picture possible, whether the room is bright or dark.

sorted byThe TV was bought unseen to replace a 7-yeal old 55cx800 model.
I had assumed this TV would be an upgrade being various iterations newer but I was wrong.
The sound quality is terrible (noticable speaker buzzing even at low volumes) and the picture quality is much poorer with significantly more blur and pixelation. There is also a significant delay in the channel displaying a picture which is frustrating whenever the old TV was instant.
On the other hand the newer apps are excellent and the blacks are good .
Buyer beware, don't do like I did and think you are getting 800 series quality, this is now the bottom of the range.
It's not made by Vestel, but it is made to a cost. It's made in Panasonic's Czech Republic factory, and is built to be a budget TV.
Panasonic only had one Vestel made 4K TV in there range last year, which was the JX600b, the JX800b was the next level up, but still budget (there was a JX700b in some countries, but it is the same TV as the JX800b sold in the UK).
Samsung and LG also sell low budget TV's with sub-par image and sound quality (e.g. AU7100, UP7000). (edited)
tepid deal on an already great price for a 58" 4k TV.
Edit: so this deal is better than the rest by £16(plus another £10 possible) and 4 years warranty. I hereby change my industry non-respected rating from tepid to warm. Your statutory rights are unaffected. (edited)
I'd steer clear of this one then. If you want a "cheap" HDMI 2.1 that can do 120fps you'll need to trawl through specs on the Richer sounds website.. they always clarify whether it's capable of 120hz (it'll say 100hz, but it's the exact same thing.. they still quote PAL figures on most UK TVs but they're universal to 100&120hz) then you'll need to check whether it supports VRR and ALLM if you actually want full HDMI 2.1 compatibility...
What size are you after? You can filter the results and go for 100hz then just check its HDMI 2.1 - the best ones I can find are..
Full Array LED so basically the best non OLED for blacks and brilliant HDR
richersounds.com/son…tml
Or the cheaper option which is simple LED but still has HDMI 2.1 and gives the full 120fps..

There's much cheaper LG Nano options, but the overall picture quality is poor compared to the Sony - and trust me here, you can go for the cheaper option but you'll likely regret it. I went through the same motion and returned my Toshiba, then later my Nano to Costco within their 90 days.. ended up with a Sony KD65XH90 from Curry's (of all places haha) which absolutely blew the LG out of the water.
They used to be superb at TVs but it seems they've joined Toshiba, JVC and the like in just throwing out any old budget sets these days 🤦🏻♂️ (edited)
On a different point my work purchased a Vestel made 400B model (I think) around the same time I purchased my top of the line CX model. Amusingly it is still going strong 24 hours a day in the work canteen where my proper Panasonic started going wrong in its 5th year (LED backlight reflectors falling off which leave bright white spots on the screen).
Just for note this JX model is edge lit as opposed to LED backlight array.
My thoughts were
Pros - price, picture
Cons - built-in audio, lack of channels once scanned
Overall as a TV, I was not satisfied. (edited)
Me too though I'd bet your Sony has a DVB-S/S2 tuner built in.
I had a look at the other deal posted earlier for the new Panasonic LX650 and that one has the lot DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2.
Amazon gives you 2 year warranty, richer sounds gives you 6, and it's cheaper. Tepid isn't accurate.
They also bashed my Panasonic HX800b and it's an excellent TV. Which seem to care more about sound quality and UI, than PQ. I haven't trusted them for TV reviews in years.
They make some of the best TVs on the market, not sure why you're surprised that they're still around.
I think the cheapest I've seen this telly is £325 on ebay with the 15% discount code last week but that only came with a 1 year warranty.
Edit: also Topcashback have a 1% cashback if it works. (edited)
I take that with a big pinch of salt.
Sounds like a rebadged vestel

Often yes with lack of knowledge to do indepth reviews. There are many other reviews sites saying it good "taking into account price". What I/they mean for tv in same price range not ones that cost £1k it good value.
Issue is so many ppl want all bells and whistle but not pay the price...
Ie try and find similar tv at similar or higher for same price? Not include say £800 tv reduce to £350 to clear last one in stock.
Nah it's a proper panny. I've seen it in John Lewis next to the model up JX850, couldn't tell the difference in picture playing the same HD youtube video. I didn't get a chance to test TV channels as neither had an aerial connection but I'm guessing the upscaling is better on the JX850 because it's the HCX pro processing.
I think the direct replacement for your cx800 would be the jx850 it has the more advanced HCX Pro AI processor. I've ordered this jx800 though it's due sometime this week I'll see how bad it is. The speaker buzz sounds like a fault would be covered under warranty? (edited)
Spot on. That's been very helpful thanks.
Shame it's not very easy to search for this specification easily on websites.
6 months?
It’s Richer Sounds, so they will have meant 6 years.
yeh, I was focusing on the £16. 4 years extra warranty is a good deal.
Why do you say so? You mean which? are biased in their reviews?
I agree which is independent this must be a vestel Turkey made surely ?
Yes speaker buzz is a warranty fault, but if one a movie sound buff will want to get soundboard for extra hz , bass, etc..
Get a grip mods
This is advertising masquerading as a genuine recommendation (edited)
It has hdmi 2.1 but at what resolution if any it can do 120hz don’t know yet.
Specifications say hdmi 2.0 and it's a 50hz panel so no joy
Could you elaborate on the lack of channels scanned? Is the channel missing from the list / displays a blank signal etc?
I connected the TV using my satellite LNB (not Sky Q) and I picked up 26 channels in total. There was no HD channels or the usual BBC 1 to Channel 5. The channels that I picked up included e4, more5 etc.
The reviews on here are not too hot?
Just not seen one for years.
I had a look at the specs on Panasonic and I think that's because this TV's Digital Tuner is only terrestrial DVB-T/T2. I think for Satellite reception you'll need a TV that can also do DVB-S2. I could be wrong though since it managed to pick up a few channels.
I'm a bit confused myself to be honest. I think the channel pick up is due to the coxial behaving as the antenna. I wanted to gain the same spectrum of channels that you get free from the Sky digital boxes but have only been able to find my Sony TV to achieve this so far.
For one specific budget model. (edited)
TX65JX800B has 3.5 stars on Amazon, so does another. Many have 5 stars also.
Maybe hit and miss.
I am not anti Panasonic TVs just not seen them about or talked about much.
