Has anyone received the phone yet, any first impressions?

Just got mine yesterday and seems good - I upgraded for wireless charging, IP68 and 5G so happy with all that, upgraded fine to android 12 without any issues so far, the biggest gripe for me coming from a 7 Pro is the punch hole camera ! really distracting but Im sure I'll get used to it. It came with a bumper case and a plastic screen protector which isnt great but it gets you up and running quickly before being able to get a better one. For £399 I think its a bargain

I came off my bike on ice with my op8pro in that spigen armour case in my thigh pocket and the crash tore a hole through my trousers and left deep battle scars on the case, which it was there for.
Dread to think what would've happened had it not been in the case. (edited)

Hope the specs and price are a step up from the S10! Bang for buck this is definitely hot hot hot!

Ive got a Spigen tough case on mine and have had since purchased the 8pro summer 2020.
It's been excellent.
Does add a touch of bulk but nothing crazy.

for sure. I love the Google OS in comparison. Battery usage about the same I think. One plus struggles in low light in comparison to pixel 6 for night time photos. Also was getting burn in on my OP8 Pro really early on.

I went from Pixel 4 Pro > OP8 Pro > Pixel 6

I missed the pixel experience with the one plus so sold it last year or so.

the big thing for me also (which is completely preference and you'd probably find it crazy) the op8pro was wayyyy to big for my hands. was kinda hard to use one handed.

Id say an all round phone the pixel is to go for but for £399 op8 pro is pretty good too and perfectly priced.

They do have a program that if u send it for a fix they can send u a replacement for free

Probably the best phone I've had and I've got the s21 ultra now. Definitely worth the money at this price.

Their support is baaaaad, I placed 2 orders with them and changed my mind, they told me to refuse the deliveries and I'd be refunded. After being fobbed off for months I opened PayPal cases and got refunded that way. I'm positive I would never have got the money back if if it hadn't been for PayPal. There's a few horror stories on Reddit about them saying warranty is void due to dumb reasons like scratches on the screen.

Loads of people seem to love them so I guess if you never need any support they're good phones to have but don't rely on any support from OnePlus.

I can second this. Well Giffgaff is 5g anyways.
I like 5g and one handed mode on A12 but I have to say A11 was a lot more polished

Only ever had OnePlus phones. This is an Amazing phone! Android 12 kinda ruined it a bit but slowly getting use to it. Spigen Case all the way too. Keeps your phone immaculate 🏻

This is a no brainer for anyone wanting a top phone for a good price. I'm on the 8 Pro at the moment and paid £599 last February.

This is very similar in spec to my OPPO Find X2 Pro. OnePlus and OPPO are both owned by BBK Electronics. My OPPO is a great phone, still great today, it's slightly better spec than this phone. So if you're after this phone then I'd advise looking for an OPPO Find X2 Pro because it has a slightly better camera system front and rear and it has 65W charging. It also has ColorOS 12 (Android 12) which is now the latest OS on OnePlus and OPPO, after they dropped OxygenOS fom OnePlus phones in Western markets.

You may even find a 12GB / 512GB OPPO Find X2 Pro for similar money or less than this deal. Not sure about new. Worth a look about anyway.

So the consensus seems to be an excellent phone for the money but stick to Android 11 and get a Spigen case? Thanks for the tips everyone; think I might go for this. Been semi-phone hunting for about 8 months now and I think it's time to pull the trigger.

Definitely a downgrade in my opinion.

Buggy software still
No where near the smooth implementation of Android as the OnePlus
Crappy battery life
Worse screen

Kept it's value tremendously well. Which is annoying as I'd consider buying it if it had reduced in price inline with other phones of a similar age!

Thinking of upgrading from my OnePlus 6 (it's working very very well still) - would anyone definitely recommend the 8 pro?

Also does anyone know what the difference is between the Nord series? The Nord 2T 5G is a similar price now?

It's an incredible phone.

Android 12 did bugger it, but I have rolled back to 11 for now until things are ironed out. Its actually quicker than ever now & feels superb.

Battery life is still unbelievably good

Deffo go for this. This is the last best phone oneplus made. I use this, I'm in Tech - the specs are crazy for 400.I've had this since launch. Though I would say, don't upgrade to Android 12 yet, stay on 11 (I downgraded) too buggy yet for daily use. But brilliant phone, excellent battery, camera, screen, speakers and internal specs mean you'll never worry about lag.
