Anyone have any opinions on the TV Cube?

I have several of the 4k sticks around the house and a firecube in the main TV, without doubt the cube is much much faster and picture quality is excellent.

Could really do with that amazon music button being a YouTube button

You can remap the Netflix or Disney+ buttons to open YouTube.

Probably for people who don't have a Smart TV and want to access streaming apps like Netflix etc...

Most of people I know install the Downloader app to sideload not so legal apps 😜

Does anyone have the 4K max and notice a big difference in picture quality?

I have the 4k and the max but I can’t notice any difference between them.
They say it’s a bit faster than the 4k but again I can’t really see much difference in that department as well.

Bought a 4k one a while back but never got around to using it until last week. Didn’t realise you could put emulators on it. 30 mins later and I’ve Retroarch on it with a ton of mega drive and SNES roms, using my PS4 wireless controller with it. Was much easier than the previous setup I’d done on a Raspberry Pi

Awesome did not know you could run emulators on it. Thanks you just saved me from buying another Pi. Not that there are any in Pi’s in stock. Wonder if I can use my Xbox controller too

I've noticed no difference between the 4K and the 4K Max.I suspect hardly anyone gets them purely for the Amazon content.

The lite and standard ones are slow for purpose these are bought for.. too slow, buffering etc..

I have both too and notice that 4K Max is quick to load the IPTV apps, general navigation is much better than 4K one and channels don't buffer.

It takes few days, you need to post the old stick then Amazon inspects the old fire stick and add the 20% off to account as well as the value of the old stick as Gift Card. Not a quick process. I’m getting £27.99 for 4K and £35.99 for 4K Max.

Used it for Apple TV+ and also Disney+. They're best for prime video and freevee.

I'm currently using my fire cube for watching content on tubi app through USA VPN and also CW website on silk browser.

It's best to temporarily change Amazon to an American account on a desktop browser to install the official fire TV apps without requiring sideloading, and then change back to UK afterwards.

They're great for plugging in to an outdated smart TV that still works fine but doesn't have very recent smart hardware/software, may not have access to all the streaming services anymore etc (they aren't supported indefinitely). For instance I have a Sony TV that was high end 4-5 years ago but the software was slow even when new.

I use my Cube for Live TV & yes it's very handy especially if we go away on hols as I can access my apps for Sport's and movie's etc.
As most tvs at places where we stay at are quite basic and only have terrestrial channels.
So these devices are well handy to have, another plus side is I don't have access to freeview not without having an Aerial installed on the roof or loft these just rely on broadband which I use in our bedroom.

I have smart TV's and the problem is they all become dated. I only watch youtube on my smart TV and with the content getting higher picture quality the smart tv struggles. So I either use Firestick or Roku as my go to Youtube viewer.

seems like the 20% off is not immediate. Like others have said, your old firestick needs to be returned and checked over before the discount code can be used, As the firestick prices vary so much, you may actually end paying more. As the firestick is replacing the one I want to send back, I won't have any firestick during the return period. It's not an ideal situation and the headline 20% off is nothing more than clickbait.

Picture quality is down to the source....not the hardware, a 4k, max and cube will all provide exactly the same picture !
If you have an early firestick, the 4k is like a racing car (even if you don't have a 4k TV)

Max is quicker...but only if you have them side by side, you won't notice the upgrade.
Also has picture in picture - handy if you have Amazon cameras.

Cube is for people who trust Alexa on all the time

And finally, Kodi is old hat... (edited)
