Don't waste your money, get a meta quest or hold out a year for PSVR2.

No move controllers included either, so there's a extra cost involved there.

    Replying to

Can’t use these on PS5, can you?

(And, yes, already know about PSVR2 coming next year)

I'd love one of these but why on earth did they not include the move controller. Not exactly a starter pack.

Sold my psvr and bought a quest, they are worlds apart, being wireless makes such a big difference and the quests controllers are far superior and then there's the extra option of being able to connect it to pc to play games like half-life Alex but just my opinion

As others have said, better to get a Quest 2 or wait for PSVR2 instead.
I was super interested in PSVR2, until I found out that it'll still have all the connection cables hanging off the back
If you've ever tried cable-free VR, you'll understand why many find it puzzling that Sony haven't gone this route.
    simonhillan1973's avatar
Its only going to have one cable attached to the console

Works fine with the PS5 but you do need the above mentioned free adapter. I love mine, I still find VR quite mind blowing but seeing as I started with an Atari VCS in 1978 that’s not surprising! My personal favourite is Ace Combat, it looks amazing.

Save the money for a better TV at some point. You'll use it a lot more than VR.

Can you skip getting a TV and just use VR?

If you've never used VR before I'd recommend finding a way to test this out first before splashing out, especially for old tech at this price.

I'm usually fine with everything, never suffer from travel sickness, large or small plane flights, parachute jump etc no problem, but some of the games on this thing knock me out for hours with nausea after only half an hour or so of use.

I feel you on this sentiment - I’m fine with 99% of the games I’ve got for my PSVR and a VR racing rig on the PC but the one game that totally threw me off was DoomVFR - played for 5 minutes and wanted to barf.

    Also same price at Argos

Got one of these a few years ago, it’s good but the amount of wires you need to plug in makes it inconvenient to say the least.
I used it a handful of times and it’s stayed in the cupboard ever since…save the hassle and wait for the new one.

I've got 35 PSVR games in my collection so it would be silly to move to Quest, especially considering how expensive that library is.
  12. simonwinstanley's avatar
    Just wait for PSVR2

The level of quality and actual usability on the Meta Quest is worlds apart from the PSVR. I'd definitely recommend getting that, or waiting for PSVR2.

Don't get why this is a hot deal? Have had this price on for like forever. Definetly for a year... Know cuz last year around this time wanted to buy it, but as it was 199 decided to not... And it's still 199...so no deal...

Has the psvr2 got an official release date? ‘Next year’ is a bit vague. (edited)

Sony nearly always release PS hardware in Q3-4 so if it doesn't make this year it could be some way off.

    Is this for PS4?
    Christy.Craig's avatar
    Yes.
I recommend getting a disk copy of Astrobot Rescue Mission (available on cex uk for £8). Amazing VR game.

This has nothing to do with dogs or mannequin housekeepers?

    Holding out for sub 100
    deleted2643325's avatar
I would imagine production on new ones if it hasn't already stopped, will stop very soon.

You may be better of looking at second hand marketplaces.

I've already seen headsets with the camera going for about £80 to £100 for months on end now. (edited)
  19. ElgyVeeten's avatar
+ 2 move controllers £70 + 1 gun controller £50 and you're looking at £300 to play justa few games...
    Guppeth's avatar
I think the Move controllers are essential and really should've been included in this pack. Loads of games use them and fully tracked hands make such a big difference. Not the gun controller though - it's a bit niche.
  20. Guppeth's avatar
If you want to play the PSVR-exclusive games, this is a good deal. If you just want to get into VR, there are far more capable/less annoying headsets available.

I hope Sony makes PSVR1 games work with the PSVR2. As well as the big names like Astro Bot, there are inventive games like Statik that shouldn't be trapped on a dead platform.
  21. fredd772's avatar
The only difference between the starter pack and mega pack is the games?
    Terrahawker's avatar
    Correct.
