Update - credit Add the tablet twice, then reduce quantity back to one - the tablet case added automatically gives the 20% discount.

Or do the below when the above inevitably stops working

Trade in any tablet (including fire tablet) for 50 quid off, if you add a £7 cable here samsung.com/uk/mobile-accessories/type-c-to-type-c-cable-black-ep-da705bbegww/ you get it all for £108, if you add a £9 item, bare in mind it may be a random phone case, it is £110, I'm giving you this option in case the £7 cable sells out

If I plan to use a microSD card with the tablet, 64GB or 32GB i should go for ?
    mafaanyao's avatar
    It's not the only difference
    32GB has 3GB RAM, 64GB has 4GB RAM

You don't need to add the cable the free case gives you the 20% discount

Annoyingly I can't seem to get the option for any tablet. It's Samsung only for me. How am I going to get rid of this iPad 2
    47611616-lpD2e.jpg (edited)
    BIGBeanss's avatar
You have to go through the normal store not EPP to have other trade in options
  5. Bhogey's avatar
There's no mention of them wanting a charger returned with the trade in tablet.
    mafaanyao's avatar
Only need to send the tablet. No charger adapters or cables

If they were as good with delivery as they are with taking peoples money it would be saying something. Really didnt expect this from Samsung. Stock issues, a company of their size. Pull the other one.
Will simply have to wait but I dont see my tablet materialising ever. I wont be buying my next tv from them or anything else for that matter.
    madmattie2k's avatar
I think the most annoying part of receiving these emails every fortnight - other than not getting the device - is the really lame "...due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control..." excuse! As the manufacturer, what part of their supply chain and fulfilment are they *not* responsibility for exactly?!
  7. mrTea67's avatar
Just thought i would see what i could get.I went for a 64Gb got the £50 trade in for an old Blackberry added 2 then deleted 1 and it came to £127,free case but no mention of cable. Not going to jump in just yet,but does anyone know why the cable is not being added please ?.
    mossmanfly's avatar
Because the cable had to be added separately but that was only to get the 20% off to trigger as that gives a bigger discount than the cost of the cable. Instead doing the qty to 2 then back to 1 gives you the discount. So unless you want to pay for the cable then don't worry its cheaper without it.

can anyone recommend cheapest tablet I can buy to trade in?
  9. tcotpatpwtcot's avatar
Mine was to be delivered today too. Just got an email saying new delivery date as 25th July. Was thinking of replying to them if the product was not available happy to receive 64gb in lieu.
    CashCow's avatar
Agreed, getting ridiculous now. As a gesture of good will, sending an alternative should be on the cards.

Thanks MrSwitch, another fine Samsung deal...had a 15% off birthday voucher from them, so managed to bag one for £87.72 with trade in. (edited)

Thanks OP been waiting for a deal on these, managed to bag the 64gb version with the case for £127.20, couldn't get it to the £122.80 as the above description though, at one point it wouldn't let me change any items in the basket so I used another device to access the deal again but I'm very happy at that price anyway heat from me.
I got a Fire HD 10+ on a deal before Xmas and I side loaded Google play and used the Fire Toolbox but it's been slowing down and become a bit glitchy recently, I'm sure a reset etc will sort it but prefer the Samsung without the hassle anyway. Will use the HD 10+ to replace the old iPad I use as a PDF slave for work
  12. Bobbins's avatar
I wrote to samsung@tradeinresponse.co.uk overnight asking if they would accept a broken tablet (an iPad which does not turn on, and is stuck in a boot loop) and they advised it was acceptable.

So, it appears that any old broken tablet will be acceptable for trade-in, whether it turns on or not.

‘Any Broken Tablet’ is what they mean!

    Hope this helps. (edited)
    savemoney247's avatar
Interesting because this is what they said to me

Strange, the broken tablet offer seems to have been removed now lol!
Actually, it hasn't but the screen where you do it has changed, I add broken tablet, then it's asking me to agree it's working lol??? (edited)
    thunkpad's avatar
Just click 'no' and it changes to saying it just needs to be able to power on.
  14. HammerTime10's avatar
Moneys gone out, but my order still says "Processing"
    Songbird's avatar
It will stay as processing until the day before delivery. The day before delivery it will change to preparing for despatch.

Whatever you do, don't contact them to chase up or speed up the delivery as a glitch is involved and they are likely to cancel. I learnt my lesson the hard way, when I called them up about my order for an incredible deal which ended on 17th May for a Samsung S8+ 256gb with free A8 tablet 64gb for £520 after trade ins. The glitch was trade in allowed against the free tablet as well as the one being bought. Everybody who placed the order got it. I queried mind and the order got cancelled by the team looking into the query after they spotted that a trade in was allowed against the free tablet. Not seen that combination of the two tablets at that price since and unlikely to. Even with the current 20% of for two doesn't get the price down to anywhere near £520. It was an incredibly cheap deal.

Got the parcel which includes the tablet, case and the trade-in shipping label, but no instruction leaflets on how to do the return?
    itsgun4u's avatar
Just pack the tablet and attach label and drop to post box or take to post office if you need proof of posting.

What a performance.... I thought I'd ordered a 64gb in Graphite via epp but a 32gb in Graphite has turned up. I didn't think 32gb came in Graphite... and chat were as helpful as a chocolate tea pot.... I don't need this drama in this heat lol
    blobsy123's avatar

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I think im going to return it though as reading the comments on this thread if the 64gb is lagging then I dread to think how the 32gb performs. I find it really odd that chat can't view the offers available on epp.

Just had my third delayed delivery email from them this morning. On the very day they last said it would arrive. They have already taken the money for it. I am reminded of why, some 10 years ago, I decided to never do business with Samsung again. I feel like such an idiot.

I cancelled one of my orders 32gb (for my self) and going to order the 64gb for the added 4gb ram.

Delivery is 2 weeks away. So when do we need to send the old devices back? Do we wait for the A8 to be delivered then send the old one back?
    rotherham's avatar
Yes wait u re use the same box and new labels supplied with your new order

How long will Samsung support the Galaxy A8?
    mossmanfly's avatar
Phones I think have a 5 year support cycle now, use to be 3 years, so tablets could be the same.

Would the extra 1gb really make a big difference for gaming on tablet?? Debating just getting the smaller one.
    Bobbins's avatar
I bought the 3Gb one as all I use will use it for is email, surfing and YouTube.

    I
For 20-odd squid more, I would go for the extra if you can afford it, if you intend to use the fully use the device at is full capacity

I clicked trade in and only option showing up was any other samsung. I have a really old Google nexus 7. Can I trade this in or must it match the listing? I.e an old Samsung one?
    Songbird's avatar
It must be Samsung. If you want to trade in non Samsung tablet then you can do that on the standard Samsung website. For EPP and student sites it's only Samsung trade in.
