Query about RWG Mobile from EE

Does anyone here use RWG Mobile PAYG from EE? I'm currently using PAYG, what with using WhatsApp for the majority of my texting I don't really think I require a contract, so would like to stick with PAYG for time being as I think a contract would be a waste of money for my current usage.

Anyway, can anyone please explain how RWG Mobile actually works? On MoneySavingExpert it says top up once. I take that to mean I won't need to keep topping it up every few months like with 1pMobile and iD Mobile, and bearing in mind I'll be mainly texting via WhatsApp, so won't lose it if I don't top up if I don't happen to use it. I'm assuming this is correct. Can someone please verify this?

RWG Mobile appear quite competitive compared to my current provider, ASDA mobile. ASDA mobile are also putting their prices up from 26 September, so looking to switch.

TIA

RWG has various plans but I assume you are referring to the two recurring-freebie plans where:

one-off £5 top up provides the value of the top up plus monthly recurring freebie 50mins/50SMS/250MB data
    rwgmobile.wales/web…ta/

    or

one-off £15 top up provides the value of the top up plus monthly recurring freebie 100mins/100SMS/750MB data
    rwgmobile.wales/web…ta/

Use an inclusive allowance (or chargeable item) at least once every 89 days and certainly no longer than 6 months to keep the sim alive.

That's probably as simple as it gets. (edited)

    Replying to

Arguably wise to order one of the RWG recurring-monthly-freebie SIMs now, just in case the sale of freebie-allowances sims are withdrawn.
Countered by possibility of the company ceasing trading, or Now/EE withdrawing network access, or other drama not seen since OVIVO Mobile or Samba Mobile.

I use RWG on the freebie 50/250mb plan & I have never gone over the allowance. Just using the allowance to keep the sim alive & thus keep your credit. For me it works well. Although improvements would be wifi calling (apparently due sometime this year) & better app for checking balance etc.
