    This happens when they have promo stock left over. As people don't pick them up along with their purchase. Seen it quite a few times with promo glasses.

    Why they don't give it to their staff or charity? Staff all on min wage at least donate it to them before offering us.

    *party pooper alert* ... It's not "left over" stock. Yes, it scans on its own but you're still supposed to buy it with a bottle of Jack. Anyone going through a manned till may get refused (edited)

    It's end of promo stock. My wife picked up a box of two Asahi half pint glasses for 1p a month or two ago. Promo was finished, stock advertised as 1p.

    At my local Sainsbury's they never put them out for the customers. I've regularly seen staff going through the self scan checkouts buying promo glasses at 1p each.

    There's never usually many left after a promo, not all go for a penny after the 3 weeks promo are over but with this one being a bit boring there's loads left

    Thanks OP. I managed to bag a couple from my local Sainbury's. Tried going through the self checkout to avoid any questions but they come up as requiring ID. Staff let it through and asked me if there were any left

    I bought 8 from my local sainsburys in Dewsbury earlier this week. They were marked at 1p. They had around a dozen left after my purchase. They also had some kopparberg can cosy things next to them also for 1p.
