Ink from manufacturers is a complete scam. Give a bit of DIY you can easily fill up your cartridge's for around £10 and you'll 1000+'s of pages from that £10.

This is true for many, but if you are an ocassional printer like me, I found that my re-used printer cartridges would malfunction through non use. So I do find this instant ink, at only £1 a month for 10 sheets (and £1 for extra sets of 10) to be actually really economical

From the referral scheme I've got free ink till 2023 , but hardly print much these days, anyone know of a business idea I could do?

Additionally the code FREEINK has been around for years which should give you another month at setup

Thanks, just got a printer today with the 9 months trial, can you add more than one referral code?

    Just one.

How did you get 4 years???

I've used this for about 4 years, I've never ran out of ink and has only been (up to very recently), £1.99 a month, as for refilling/Cartridge World/Cheap eBay clones, been there, got the t-shirt (also got half a dozen ruined printers), ink used to be very expensive, using instant ink isn't!

Nah, thanks, that's way too little compensation for doing the advertisement for HP

I don’t understand that instant ink service. If you buy a printer with “instant ink” with no subscription. can you use the printer until the ink/toner runs out on the original cartridge then buy an non-instant ink replacement cartridge as you already do? I’ve done some googling and it seems that the printer requires an internet connection and will stop printing when the initial instant ink sub ends?
    manoj123's avatar
yes. The cartridges you got via subscription are until through the subscription period and will stop working when subscription ends. Can however buy normal cartridges to print.

I haven't gone through their registration process and apparent necessity to be registered to use the printer(you don't) and neither bothered with the instant ink nonsense.

Spend a tenner and get a refill kit that will last for ages instead of the measley amount they rip you off with in the cartridge (edited)

If you print glorious colour photos on A4 paper, then the £9.99 for 300 pages is a bargain

In all seriousness this is exactly why we like the service, we print what we want and never had to monitor our ink levels as it does it for you.

Been using this service for over 2 years now, has been good value for us as we are occasional printers (use between 10 -100 pages a month depending on school work etc). As long as you send back used ink cartridges (which isn't often as they contain a lot more than standard ones). Pages also roll over each month if you dont use them to cover those one off months where you went print crazy.

48654127-tstS7.jpg48654127-58Vvw.jpg48654127-9LUs4.jpgPurchased printer today, setup the 9 months free ink which says delivered in 10 days, but its counting the pages I'm printing now and stating hp instant ink cartridges installed but I'm using the ones supplied in box, surely it should only start counting when I receive and use the instant ink Cartridges?

Yes - that has been my experience ie the cartridges supplied with the printer dont count, and your membership only starts once you install a cartridge received from HP Instant Ink. if you can be bothered then perhaps call CS.

If you're a casual user of a printer and don't hammer it daily then this service is absolutely worth it, I pay £1 a month for mine and I've had at least 1 replacement cartridge already

My point in mentioning that is for the price of a single cartridge or less you can get a years supply if you're a light user, I'm not sure how much it works out as if you print a lot of documents but for me who only uses it to print return lables etc it's a no brainer, naturally keep an eye on it if you do sign up for it though and see if it's right for you but it's worth a punt definitely and it's easy to regulate it's no bother

I bought refill ink from eBay in ,2017 for £3.50 still refilling and using same cartridge.
    urinthematrix's avatar
Wow... which printer do you have? Is the refilling easy to do?

Instant ink is great .I have just signed up and managed to get 12 months free 👌
    adnan742's avatar
    12 months? Free? how?

For an existing HP instant ink subscriber, I assume I wouldn’t get the extra 3 months if I get another new printer and subscribe to another Hp instant ink? So the extra 3 months is for new users, correct?
    chrisnasah's avatar
you will, same account can have two printer subscriptions (edited)
