Cracking price for a Solo 7 night Canary Island Cruise that includes flights from London to Tenerife...or go with friends or as a couple and have a cabin each! Flights also available from other airports at a supplement e.g. Birmingham +£50

When you click through, no single supplement yay! However, still good value if you share a cabin!

Various dates available in Jan or early Feb at this price.

Inside cabin £399
Outside cabin £499
Balcony £599

Bargain, but the Itinerary a little underwhelming imo... I've seen other 7 day cruises that include La Gomera and Morocco...yet this cruise is Tenerife, Madeira, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and back to Tenerife..so I'll be giving it a miss! I was so close to booking the balcony cabin at £599!

I've also noticed that P&O are offering no single supplement on their 2023 Med cruises... But not on their Caribbean cruises, Bah Humbug! I really fancied whizzing off to Barbados!

Good price do you need to be vaccinated?
    gari189's avatar
Yes - P & O require you to be vaccinated. Negative test is only a recommendation

Not sure why you would need a balcony for a single traveller, or on a cruise in January with that itinerary.
    Any drinks packages available?
Saying that the £60 shareholder perk is probably the best option. If you dont own Carnival already, buy 100 shares now during the prolonged dip in share price.

Re the balcony.. less claustrophobic and just a bit of luxury isn't it, solo travellers can be allowed that?😁. Good info about the shares, I'll look into that! Weather in canaries Jan Feb average 20C daytime, so I think balcony would be used

Its a smidgeon cheaper on Seascanner £380 if you don't mind booking through an agent. Unclesr if it includes filghs though (edited)

wasn't it p&o that caused uproar a while ago when illegally dismissing hundreds of staff? amazing how quickly people forget these things.
    gavin_daviesnsp's avatar
No.that was p and o ferries a totally different company with different owners.
P and o cruises are owned by carnival and have nothing to do with the ferry's and freight business.

I'm the biggest introvert in the world so why is my brain telling me to book this?
    fabsaver's avatar
    Why not?

As a fellow introvert I have enjoyed cruises in the past. Socialising with other passengers isn't compulsory. You can choose to go to the solo meets or not. You can choose to join shared tables in the restaurants or not.

For me it is more about having the opportunity to visit different places, using the ship as a base, with the food as an added bonus.

I read cruisecritic reviews, didn't sound great. Never sailed with P&O, we are used to Celebrity cruises recently, Disney before those. cruisecritic.co.uk/mem…539

Something I've found out since I booked this... With P&O, travel insurance, including cruise cover is mandatory... Even though (I believe) the industry as a whole states it just as recommended. It's an additional expense, even more so if you're elderly and/or have existing conditions.

A friend went to the Canaries in January, they said their plane landed after 3 attempts, it was so windy.

How do you search on the P&O site for solo travellers at no extra cost. I looked through the filters but couldn’t find an option.

Hi... I couldn't find an option either, but I didn't expect there to be one. I simply searched by cheapest first... then if necessary, you can filter by destination. I then went to each cruise eg Canary Islands (1 cruise), Med (2 cruises from Valetta) and Caribbean (2 cruises I think)... to see if any single supplement

I'm new cruises. Does this offer include any meals/beverages? What should a budget be for meals, drinks and WiFi for one person?
    bkhimasia's avatar
All cruises cover food, tea and coffee. some only include cordials at meal times. Alcoholic drinks & wi fi are extra. I don't know what this company charges. Usually it is pretty expensive. I normally have a drink at the ports & drink at places where they have wi fi to check my emails. (edited)

I really want to go on a cruise in January, I have wanted to go for years. But my friend who is a Chinese citizen studying in the UK, doesn’t have a visa for many of the countries.

Just noticed that the price of this date has gone up to £449. Several other dates are available at £399 though, so I'm going to leave the deal up

Well, bit the bullet, couldn't resist! Booked the one going 7th Jan, long range forecast looks good!

Noticed that the 7th Jan Itinerary is different... It goes to Fuerteventura rather than Lanzarote.... and La Palma rather than Gran Canaria. Never noticed until after I'd booked it! ... But this suits me so much better, never been to La Palma!

I can't see which airports you can go from?
    Pingupoo's avatar
Go through the process till you get to 'your holday summary' page, then scroll down and find 'change your flights' option.
