Tried a fair few times and this kit is the exact one I tried last time.

I’ve never been able to successfully grow a bonsai tree, even following the instructions to the letter.

Out of all of the kits though, this is the only one that sprouted for me, so that’s something.

Same. One sprouted but pretty soon died off, the others, nothing

Your mileage may vary but I find these 'bonsai' kits to just be marketing BS. A bonsai is an old tree. You're growing a sapling. It's better to go to a garden centre, buy a small tree and prune it down.

With these, you won't have a bonsai tree for at least 5 - 10 years.

Agreed. Bought an untouched small cherry for this price on a reduced section in a local nursery. Kept it in the same pot but started shaping it. Next year sort roots and pot it into a tray pot. Don't bother with this kit at all - look in your garden there'll be saplings to dig and use

I agree with SedeVecante its a waste of time, My Son bought me one last year and did it all to the guide and never took out of all the tiny seeds you get, i even put the pots in the fridge because it said....Sorry but its a Waste of Money...and it all did end up in the bin.

Anything up to 10 years to grow. Haven't got the patience.

Maybe this will help you gain patience..

Tried another kit once, got nada. I think these are just incredibly hard to grow. When they know there are such consistent failure results they should not be selling them. It’s a flat out con.

Don't buy this everything will finish in bin

Be better to go to a garden centre and buy a juniper procumbens or chinensis and a little wire to style it, or a Japanese Acer (maple) for the clip and grow method of styling.

Peter Chan of herons bonsai has a lot of vids showing how to style nursery stock.

I bought my uncle the same kit for his birthday last year. He did quite well with it (picure below)

I would probably end up killing it, as soon as I'd planted it, my fingers are definitely not green.

Got this as a gift as I do like bonsai trees, however none of the seeds sprouted at all, followed all instructions too. Was really disappointed.

Agree with above comments, waste of money unfortunately.

Will you live long enough to see these become anything? I used their succulent kit and whilst I got them to sprout they're still tiny, and it's been years. Then you go to IKEA and a full plant is £2 :/

Doesn't work. I kept in fridge for months nothing and u need to put red dye in to make red
