99p Seed Sale
50% off Seeds + Flowers

They also used to send free trial seeds with every order but it doesn't seem to be on their new website any longer but I would expect it to still happen. Last season it was some carrots.

If you want to know when things can be planted and harvested their catalogue is usually pretty good which should be sent with your order or you can apply for one here.

Happy growing!

Good option if you are after something specific, just a reminder for other people shopping for seeds:

The Range seem to be stocking Wilkos seeds (approx 75p for common varieties)

Lidl sell seeds and the cheapest price (carrots etc) are 4 packets for £1 - some varieties more expensive

Premierseedsdirect have a huge variety of seeds with prices around £1.29 per pack (higher quantity contents than most) and sell direct on website, ebay and amazon (in case you have credit/offers to use)

Thank you for the tips. What's the best type of soil to plant them in? Thanks

If you have nice tomatoes you bought from the shop you can save some seeds. When you cut them on a chopping board you will have seeds and a bit of juice come out. If you mop them up in bit of kitchen towel, dry the towel you can plant the towel laid flat with the seeds on top. They will grow and seeds wont sink.

I’d also add warning they may not come true to original. Tried this with my favourite supermarket tomato Piccolo and weren’t anywhere near as good - found out afterwards it’s an F1 type seed so not guaranteed. Climate might have been a factor as well as this variety normally grown in warmer climes. (edited)

We use Budget Seeds, they're good and cheap also. Anyone know where's best for onion sets?

If you’re looking for information/guide to vegetable growing checkout “The Vegetable Expert” by Dr. [something] this is like the bible of vegetable growing and you can pick it up second hand for a few quid. Concise reference with colour illustrations that will give you a good overview.

That annoying “join our community” button makes the mobile website really frustrating to use!

Maybe it's for the best, maybe you shouldn't be spreading your old seed

    Mostly very expensive!

Almost everything you buy with a seed can be grown , strawberries, peppers, tomatoes and so on. Save some seeds next time you get something from the greengrocers and give it a try!

curious where people buy seeds from now in general? i used to rely on wilko an now really havent a clue where to get good cheap seeds?

You could try The Range. I believe their own seeds are 49p a packet. Quantity of seeds in them are probably less though

Very disappointed with Lidl seeds this year - there was a very limited range and absolutely no tomato seeds.
I've been growing Harzfeuer F1 tomatoes from them for years, I ran out of seeds last year and was hoping to get more this year. In the end, I caved and bought some at B&Q at £3.50 for 10 seeds - a great deal more than Lidl used to sell them for, but I like the variety.

I'll have a look at DT Brown to see what's there.
