don't bother i bought them and you can hardly fit anything in them. Better to use a rucksack it's bigger and as long as it fits under the seat it's fine. Plus they don't check a rucksack as Ryanair know you can squash it down to fit

Can confirm. On a Ryanair flight now with a backpack around 50x20x25cm. Was not questioned and it easily fits under the seat.

Always carry a heavy duty bin sack for Ryanair flights. If they get arsey and demand (I think it's something like 32 quid at the gate) I can just dump my bag, fill my coat pockets with much of the stuff and 'demonstrate' that the remainder of my bag contents can indeed fit into their metal gauge device.

Yeah many times I have used duty free bags to fit more stuff, big ones, the biggest possible, dump everything I need there and march onto the plane as if nothing happened... Just look confident, I think that is important.
Never have I been asked to show contents of it nor been bothered.

I also don't hang out at the gate where boarding is happening as Ryanair sometimes love to pester people prior the boarding to stick their bags inside the box or tag bags for baggage section. I usually just sit at the other gate nearby and board if not last then one of the last and never been bothered with Ryanair staff.

Works with all airlines, once I managed to carry 23kg of hand baggage with KLM. 1 backpack that doesn't look big, so nobody checks it's weight, yet i placed heavy items in it (2x4kg pineapples and other things), 1 laptop shoulder bag that had 3 laptops in it with chargers and one Lidl/Morrisons reusable bag. Checked whilst sitting at KLM lounge and waiting for my plane what's the total weight and I was pleasantly surprised

Hi, how did you pick up 2 for £21, did you have a code?

Now other airlines have slightly generous allowance than RyanAir .. unless one goes and buy all sizes you are kind of restricted in size in this case (pun intended)

Mostly fly easyjet and have a smallish rucksack 'crammed' also wear a multi-pocket gilet for more goods and a TRESPASS Softshell jacket with zipped outer pockets and inner-pockets. After I pass boarding gate I dump my jackets into a large LIDL shopping bag and board early so I can get one of them in the overhead lockers.

Bet they wait for this sale to end and ryanair drop the maximum allowable dimensions by 1cm to catch everyone out..
