Agreed - brand new at £469 from BT is the better option

My PS5 internal power unit failed after 13 months. Outside warranty but thankfully Amazon were legends and gave me a full refund. Bought another one at makes the strangest noises in the disc drive. Convinced it is going to have issues soon. Comparatively, my PS3 and PS4 Pro are still going strong after many years. Not sure I'd recommend paying this much for a second hand PS5.

Bought my PS5 new from Argos in October of 2021, second revision Model 1200, not had a single issue with it over the past 17 months, admittedly it has very good cooling in an IKEA fjaellbo mesh metal tv bench on bottom shelf where cooling can get under it, and have it horizontally positioned. I also have my AV Receiver on the bottom shelf too.

Probably getting a Xbox now you seen all the games coming to gamepass day one release for pc and xbox it way.more value then the ps5 subscription ATM

I’ve got both and while Gamepass is great you’re missing PlayStation titles; God of War, Uncharted, Final Fantasy (7, 16, 7 part 2), Spider-man, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima and so on.

If you love single player games than the Xbox won’t satisfy those cravings IMO. PlayStation is far superior at the front. However if you mainly play FPS/Sports and Western RPG (Skyrim/fallout) then Xbox is the better option and a lot cheaper!

£420 for a second/third/forth or fifth hand PS5, who knows the history of a refurbished console, so what could possibly go wrong. lol

    How is this getting hot
    sashforth's avatar
My guess is that people are voting without reading the thread. Difficult to see how anyone could vote this hot if they knew that a new was less than £50 more. Either that or they are fans of the MusicMagpie used PS5 lottery.

Also it's music magpie, you'll probably end up with a dishwasher

You can buy a new PlayStation 5 disc edition with Sony dualsense charging station from eBay for £470

Very also have 10% off too if you get the Disc Console & Hogwarts Legacy and sell the game to CEX for £42 cash (if not wanted) you can get it for around £425 (that's with P&P) which after all is brand new. (edited)

Some people obviously have a different opinion.

Musicmagpie are also a bunch of cowboys. Another reason to avoid this "deal".
