    worthy upgrade from a 3700x?

I did this. But I sold the 3700x to make up for it. You'll get just a little extra perf in multi core workloads, and a little better average fps in gaming. But the hidden upgrade is MUCH MUCH better percentile frame rates. Smoother gaming basically.

Hello! Is this a top contender to replace a Ryzen3600? Got a 3060 ti. Budget is no more than £250 ish
    chischis's avatar
You're not really going to get an uplift in perf worth upgrading for. I'd suggest saving for a better GPU. The 3600 still has some Headroom.

£174 on amazon for prime delivery worth the extra £3.02 possibly. Still if willing to wait, then this is cheaper.

From a third party seller though. Probably better to go with ebuyer

Would this be ok with a standard 3600 cooler? Considering I am unlikely to get anything high end gfx wise before a full rebuild I’m considering this over the 5800x3D paired with a 3060ti or at most 3080 / 6800xt

Stock cooler is ok, I'd invest in a better CPU cooler (I use a Snowman MT-4 on mine). If you used something similar on your 3600 it would lower your CPU temps click. If you want a budget CPU cooler to go with the 5700X then Thermalright do decent coolers amazon.co.uk/dp/…h=1

Got one mispriced at £174 at time of launch and I consider this better than the 5800x. Cooler and same power, maybe a very little touch less. I got both (edited)

This is an excellent CPU for the price - the same amount of cores as the consoles and they are faster cores.

Bought this to replace a 2700. Fantastic ugrade and you wont be disapointed . Just trying to figure out what the best PBO settings are.

CPU's are in a pretty great spot right now overall in terms of performance and pricing.

I'd say that now that we're getting some properly affordable(and still good) AM5 boards, even Zen 4 is something I'm pretty comfortable in recommending to people. Though this all makes for a hard choice in terms of what direction to go in.

guys this or i5 12600k what u prefer
    Solee's avatar
This because it's way cheaper and the 12600k is only slightly better in gaming.

Hey guys, im not tech savy but would also like advice in regards to upgrading. I currently have a amd ryzen 7 2700x eight core processor. I have a 3070 gpu. Would i benefit much at all if i upgraded to this?
    Leeps's avatar
Yeah that'd see a decent uplift

What is the best processor for AM4 at this moment? I got x560 motherboard and I'm thinking about upgrade so the option is new CPU for existing motherboard or new mobo + CPU. Currently I had ryzen 5 3600
