Any decent motherboards at a good price to pair this with?

Have been considering upgrading from my i5-2500k for a system built on this or a 7600 which would almost be double the price.

Was considering pairing this with a MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS which is £120 at amazon but I've not done too much research so there will likely be better boards for less cash.

So, strangely enough, I just bought this system. That mobo and the 5600. Been happy. Built it on the bank holiday weekend. (edited)

Is Amazon the best place to buy from considering I may need to return it? I have seen this cheaper on eBay with codes.

Looking to upgrade from a Ryzen 5 1600 on a MSI b350m Bazooka. The support of Zen 3 is a bit of a hit and miss on these motherboards, hence I need to be able to return it if it doesn't work out. (edited)

I've just bought the 5600g from Amazon due to their return policy just in case,
I've never tried to return a CPU but if I did, I'd clean it up with some Isopropyl alcohol ( to remove any thermal paste) before sending it back.

I am thinking of basing a system around this, but wondering if it is worth the extra cost to get the 5700x?

Most of the benchmarks show little difference. Any opinions people who know more?

    Thanks! (edited)

If you can stretch the money I'd go for the 5700X, it is more future proof in the longer term.

@cyberbabenilorac congrats on adding reviews to the description for 5600g and 5700x.

Picking up a Ryzen 5 4600g with Asus a520m-k motherboard, 250gb nvme and 1x 8gb 3200mhz ram, case and probably terrible power supply for £140 but can't decide if I should just get this CPU and a better motherboard later or just go with pc mentioned and upgrade cpu later haven't built a pc in ages thats newer tech have 16gb ram ready to go in if it works with it and 512gb nvme this cpu seems to be the one to get from looking into things

This CPU does NOT have a built in GPU. I'm saying this because you mention you are considering a 4600G and don't mention any graphics card. The 5600G is the CPU you want if you need integrated graphics.

Do you have a link for ASRock B550M-HDV for £76.66?
